After about 6 days, I have finally finished the painting and building of my sleigh. I made one huge mistake during the build and had to unbuild it. I forgot to put the steel marble in the little cage that is beneath the Christmas package. I just love how cute this is. I tried to upload a 6-second video but it wouldn’t do it from my cell phone and my computer is down.
Its amazing how good you get the paint to cover it all. Even after 4 layers mine wasnt that nice
Thank you. Sometimes the edges do take a couple of coats. With yellow, for me it always takes four or five. These are very cheap paints from Walmart but @Liset uses a very good paint that covers well. I know she is close to you so maybe she can tell you the name of it and you can find it.
Yay! You finished!!
How’s is your elbow doing?
It’s very hard to work with the splint on so I only manage a little bit a day. This is day five of two weeks with the split on. Not any fun at all but I’ll get through it. Thank you for asking @Atropex
Yeah it’s called Amsterdam. She told me. If i ever paint again then i will use them. Maybe I’ll laint the pinball machine i got
Maybe I’ll finish my paintball machine someday…
@Jerry_Boswijk that is a huge undertaking for your first real job that you want to paint. I’m just warning you.
Wow the colors makes this build amazing
awesome job @Nita_Davis
With the lighter colors you’ll have to paint the edges sometimes with more layers but i’m very happy with the acrylic paint of Amsterdam
The pinball is very hard to paint it took me 2 months before i could finished it @Nita_Davis @Jerry_Boswijk ![]()
Soo cool! Im glad I got to see your Christmas version. I will have to make sure to not forget the marble when I build my version.
Hopefully soon.
Thank you @SunnyCee . I had already put my sleigh together and everything when I noticed that little steel ball and I wondered where did this go and it was about a full page back and I had to tear my whole sleigh apart to do it. I wish you the best of luck because it’s really fun if you do it right the first time.. LOL
Thank you so much @Liset . I just can’t bring myself to go back to that pinball machine yet. I will definitely finish it someday
I made a similar mistake when I build my recent puzzle box. I accidentally installed the front cover upside down. You can actually see it in my photos. I broke the cover trying to take it off. (That is the down side of self locking pieces. You can’t put test things together dry and glue it later)
But I was able to glue the broken pieces back together and it’s very sturdy now.
I try to avoid using gue at all costs in case you do have to pull something apart. I’m very happy I did not use glue on anything around my sleigh area. Things definitely break when you are trying to pry them apart but they are super glued. I wish you the best of luck on your next adventure @SunnyCee
You should only start when you feel like it again, building should remain fun ![]()
Im so glad you managed to get it back together after pulling it apart
i think i would have been a bit stressed about that!
Your paint work looks so great as always ![]()
well done, especially with your injury, you have done a fantastic job!
No problem!
I’m happy that you can still manage to do some building with your injury! What do you plan on doing next?
Thank you so much for your kind words. @Nectarines . I feel like it took me forever. I think I only spent eight days on the space shuttle.. LOL
Hahaha it must have felt soooo long for sure
its good to see it all come together at the end and it be worth it though! ![]()
