📖 [Rokr Journey] Update 2 Cuckoo clock

I finally started painting today. I think I have the colors pretty much in mind, but it could change suddenly.. Tomorrow I have a nice day off and hopefully some time to finish painting the base plate. The other “stones” will also be gray, but lighter and darker than the ones I’ve already painted.

It’s a bit more expensive paint, but not terribly expensive. I pay about €6 for the large bottles. I usually get the small ones, which cost €1.75, and I can paint several structures with them

I’m doing it too. I’m a little slow. Amazing how you color them.

Looking good so far! Are you using painters tape to get your lines so crisp? I’m terrible at painting!:rofl:

Painting always takes a lot more time, but it means you’ll enjoy building for longer ,

Haha no is just paint it by hand. Sometimes I also go a bit overboard  I use very small brushes and in this picture I used a flat brush, which is easier to paint along the edges @Atropex @JDisaduck

Thank you @Tricia12 :hugs:

In all honesty, as a painter…I would never pair brown with shades of grey. I did not notice that at first…that you were painting the brown….I am so used to seeing color on these models already and you mentioned shades of grey. If it were me, I would go with white grout (add a dot of black to paint)…and different shades of grey for stone.

When I finished the gray, I also realized I didn’t like the brown and that I should have made it lighter. I’m actually hoping the brown will be less noticeable in the final result, or do you think I should adjust it now?

I’ve just never ( in 36 years of working on houses) seen brown grout with grey tiles…I would have to change it…but it is much easier to do so after painting your tiles the color you want. I would only go with your current shade of gray (which appears to have bluish tones) and adding some white to it. I would NOT pick another shade of grey. A tiny dot of black in your white will cover easily in one coat, especially over grey. You can be sloppy painting the tiles…and it will easier to paint your grout lines as they will still be visible. I hope this helps.

Thank you @Nita_Davis :hugs: I initially thought about making the grout brown, like the ground in a forest, but when I painted the tiles, I realized it wasn’t pretty. I don’t know what possessed me, haha, maybe I was a little tired after a long day at work.
I found this color. I think it’s a better one. It says warm gray, but I don’t really consider it gray, more of a light sand color.

I repainted the grout and am now going to paint the tiles.
