📖 [ROKR Journey] Progress on the gear ball challenge

Oh my goodness! This one has been tough from the start. It is very challenging as the title states. The painting is so much more to deal with than I ever expected. This one has been more challenging than the space shuttle was but I think I am almost there. After a week of work, I think I still have a couple more days to finish this one.

Oh my! You’ve done so much already Nita. Now that I see your work, I can imagine how much more work I need to finish mine

It’s looking great btw!

Just want to ask if you have any issues with the bottons? Mine gets stuck sometimes even if I thoroughly sanded those popping sticks and even waxed them

:astonished_face:really a special edition from Nita @Nita_Davis

My little “pop-up” things work pretty good. Yes, I sanded and waxed well…but they still don’t seem to flow as easily as I think they should. I am not sure where you are at…but the toughest stuff is still to come. trust me on this. Feel free to reach out if you come across any problem areas. @Jill_Francisco

This is looking bright and beautiful! The colors are perfect!

I think that is almost finish? And not sure though, but you have same colors like Jill.

Wow, a gear ball challenge — that is no small feat! All those surfaces and edges to paint takes some serious dedication. I can barely handle painting edges myself, so the fact that you are tackling every single piece is genuinely impressive. Your color choices are looking amazing and we cannot wait to see the finished result! :tada:

Thank you very much! @ThaoNguyen This is the same color combo I used on one of my amusement park rides.

Yes, it really is beautiful and vibrant.

These colors really stand out! Looks like a real ride, like a roller coaster!

Wow! That is quite the build Nita. I like the use of primary colours. It makes it stand out.

It looks so vibrant. I know that all of your hard work was worth it I am sure!

Thanks so much @Kim_Kieffer . I think I will be done tomorrow. My goodness! What was I think when I decided to go with 6 colors. I can’t even count the number of times I’ve had to wash my brush…LOL!

It has so many twists and turns in there. I was shocked at how much stuff they fit into such a small space. @Tkaplan

Oh yeah, I remember @Jill_Francisco’s issues with opening the compartment and me thinking if that could have something to do with the paint. Who knows!

Jeez @Nita_Davis, what a build and it’s not even finished there! I’m liking it much more with those colours (and also the ones @Jill_Francisco has chosen on their own) than the more static original one. The effort will pay off, I’m sure of it and you’ll be able to be super proud of yourself if you aren’t already!

Thanks so much @Suzanne_Jones …I’ve used this color combo before. It does add a lot of time to the painting though.
