This model is a Non Name Brand. I can’t even find the name of the manufacture.
It name is “The Crane Truck.”
I have spent the last few weeks, a few hours a day, painting and assembling this “Log Truck” as I have made it.
It isn’t a very detailed model but I managed to add a little.
The Brown color has 2 layers of sprayed on Gloss to give it a more Automotive Finish.
While the crane has a flat red paint and no sprayed on finish.
I added a little realism with the chains and logs.
And every log truck has a “Headache” rack on the back of the cab to prevent Headaches from loose logs so I added one, complete with log chains.
And you might notice the Real looking Head and Marker lights.
Wow. Looking at it no one would think it is a ROKR Kit. So awesome
The colors on your truck DIY look so realistic, and every detail is spot on. It truly feels like watching a real truck at work, amazing craftsmanship! ![]()
Very nicely done
this build looks very realistic
You did a great job. Love the headache rack with the chaines
Such detail! It looks amazing! ![]()
All the colors are spot on too ![]()
Excellent job, Earnest! I really love the finished look!
Wow! your details really make a difference! This looks like a Tonka truck! You put a lot of thought into this one! Nicely done!
That is looking very nice and it is lovely that its actually works. What are your thoughts when comparing it with Rokr kits?
The quality of the kits was Good. The wood was thick and not too brittle.
But the joining tabs made it hard to put the pieces together. Each tab had 1, 2 or 3 slits in it so it would “squeeze” into the slot. I could push and wiggle most of the pieces all the way into their respected slots. But some require the use of a wooden mallet to get them to fit tight and flush with the other piece.
With Rokr I have NEVER needed a mallet to get the pieces to fit together proper.
Other than that the instructions were not complete in some areas although the pictures were.
There were no instructions for the exhaust stacks but the pictures showed them completed for example.
But it is a simple model so no real problems. I didn’t even break a piece.
That’s great. Thank you for giving a thorough comparison. I build quite a few Rokr kits and I didn’t have any issues. I’m a little hesitant to try any other brands. I tried some cheap brand at the start and it drives me insane because the parts keep on breaking. But Rokr kits come with really good quality.
That looks amazing! You’ve managed to bring so much character and realism to it — the glossy brown finish and added details like the chains and lights make a huge difference. It’s impressive how you turned a simple model into something that feels so alive and authentic!
