Hot Rod car (not Robotime)

Today is day 4 of building the hot rod car. Many of you have asked questions about building these models. I do use a hammer for almost every step because there are Expansion Joints which hold the model together. You can see them circled in one of the pictures. These are meant to hold Rock Solid. The rubber bands are so that the doors can open and close and it also runs the motor. I tried to post a video of the doors opening and closing but it was too big. As you can see from the instruction page, the instructions are very large and clear. Those pages are about 7x13 in and the pictures show almost the same size as the parts are. There is approximately one step per page. For this model, instead of sweeping up tiny pieces of white from the double-sided tape, I am now sweeping up tiny pieces of toothpicks that shoot across the room as I cut them off. I am very thankful for the Clippers that I have instead of using a razor knife. Much thanks to Rolife for those. Of course, I chose red white and black for my color combo with silver for certain areas as well. This is a very hard combination to do but here we are. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. These are not really as tough as they seem

You did great. I look forward to the finished product

Wow it’s interesting to see rubber bands being used this way. Also awesome paint job as usual!

This is really really cool. Your color scheme is awesome and this will look beautiful when complete. Are you going to spray with some kind of gloss at the end? A big red shiny car?!

Thank you so much! @Atropex

These wooden pieces are a lot thicker, so I think it would be difficult to fit them together properly. I once built a convertible from this brand, and I can’t remember if it was difficult to slide the pieces together then.

The colors you used look fantastic, as always. Good luck with the rest of your build!

Did you do the dream Cabriolet? That one is made by Ugears but it is much like this one @Liset

The colour combo looks really nice. Quality of these kits are amazing. Happy building

Yes i did, I thought the car you were building was the same brand

Your paint job looks excellent per usual! Im excited to see the results :hugs: This build dedicated looks difficult but you got this!

That looks amazing! The amount of detail and work you put into it really shows. Your color combo is gorgeous, and it’s so cool to see how different the process is compared to Robotime kits!

Ugears is a great brand as well, if you can deal with the rubber bands and toothpicks. I’ve only done one Ugears and this is my third by Wood Trick. They are not worth the prices they are asking for them, unless you are making them as a playable toy. No child could break these…LOL! They use a lot of the same techniques though @Liset
