Christmas Fundraising Event in the Netherlands

A little kindness goes a long way

In mid-December, a small Christmas market in
Berghem, Netherlands quietly came to life with a shared purpose.
The event was organized to raise funds for the
Wish Ambulance Foundation,

a charity dedicated to fulfilling the last wishes of terminally ill patients.
It wasn’t about crowds or spectacle, it was about the intention to
send comfort to those who struggle to find hope.

When a Christmas Market Became Something More

When
@Jerry_Boswijk heard about the fundraiser through his sister-in-law, he immediately thought of the community he knew best. As
a crafter and Robotime Brand Ambassador, he reached out to ask whether Robotime kits could be part of the effort.
The answer came back quickly and warmly: yes.

Twenty kits were prepared and brought to the market on
December 20th. Jerry, moved by the idea, offered the stand free of charge so
every euro could go directly to the charity.
At first, the evening moved gently. Visitors lingered, looked, asked questions.
Then something shifted.

One kit became a gift, then another, and soon hands were reaching for stories in miniature form.

By the end of the event,
fifteen kits had found new homes, with one more sold the following day. In total,
€345 was raised, a quiet but meaningful success built on trust, patience, and generosity.
What the Evening Held
This wasn’t just a fundraiser.
It was a space where conversations unfolded naturally,

where people discovered Robotime for the first time, or stayed simply because the atmosphere felt calm.
Even the kits that didn’t sell weren’t seen as leftovers, they were saved for future meetups, extending the spirit of
giving beyond a single night.

The stand became a reminder of something simple and powerful: small actions, when shared, can quietly add up.

Meet Jerry · The Crafter, Explorer, and Altruist
If you’ve spent time in the Robotime community, chances are you’ve already felt Jerry’s presence.

He’s the one welcoming new members, offering calm advice when a build feels tricky, and celebrating progress just as much as finished projects.
Jerry’s comments are thoughtful, encouraging, and often sprinkled with gentle humor, sharing
a steady, reassuring voice in the community.
For Jerry, miniature building is more than a hobby. He has openly shared that discovering Robotime kits during a difficult period in his life gave him a sense of calm, confidence, and a place to reset.
Over time, that personal healing grew into a desire to give back, by supporting others, sharing experience, and helping build a space where creativity feels safe and shared.
You’ll often find Jerry building alongside his wife, cheering on children’s first projects, or offering practical tips born from his own hands-on experience.
Whether it’s a detailed Seahorse Barque or a simple Rolife kit, he believes every build deserves patience, care, and pride.

The recent Christmas market fundraiser reflects Jerry perfectly: quiet generosity, steady commitment, and the belief that even small actions such as one kit, one comment, one kind word, can make
a meaningful difference.
We’re deeply grateful to Jerry and his family, to everyone who supported the fundraiser, and to all those who make this community feel like more than just a place to post builds.

Because in the end, what we’re really creating isn’t just miniatures, it’s connection.
