Did you know that beads are not just for jewelry and accessories?
Let me show you some examples of how beads can be useful for decorating your miniatures!
Just like in crochet, which I talked about in my previous article, bead weaving also has an amigurumi technique. This type of weaving is notable for its volume. You can create 3D characters that can be part of the display in your miniature houses.
I personally get most of my inspiration from Pinterest. Just type in “Beaded fish” or anything you like, and Pinterest will give you tons of photos and patterns of beaded fish. ![]()
Just like with characters, you can also weave decorative elements, such as wreaths, flower bouquets, or sweets. Your imagination is the only limit!
For example, I love weaving 3D strawberries. They look so realistic and really catch the eye. If I could, I would eat them haha.
You may have come across similar String curtains in real life. They look very unusual and make a pleasant rustling sound when you walk through them. You can create similar curtains for your miniature room. Like a pixel art design, you can depict various illustrations in them.
In the example above, you can see how someone made such a curtain with a fish.
To create such beadwork, you will need beads, thread, thin needles, and patterns. You can also find patterns on Pinterest or by searching in your browser.
At first, they might be hard to understand, but over time you’ll develop the skill.
You can see how well the beaded cherry blossom matches my Rolife Sakura Journey 3D Wooden Puzzle TGS02.
Thank you for reading! I hope I was helpful.
I’ve credited all the creators of the pieces on the slides.
