I’ve been working on a crochet doll commission for a few days now (I’m itching to start building something, but duty calls! ). Since I’m not following a specific pattern for the entire doll, it’s taking a bit longer, but I really enjoy the trial and error because you learn so much that way.
While working on it, I started thinking how cool it would be to make tiny dolls to include in my miniatures. I’d need to make them much smaller though, as you can see in one of the photos where I placed one of my smallest dolls next to a regular-sized kit.
Do you think that’s a good idea too, or is it just one of my crazy little thoughts?
How long have you been working on it? I love the idea of tiny dolls for your miniatures - it’s such a creative touch! Definitely not a crazy thought, just an artist’s next big idea!
They’re two different dolls. I spent a few days working on the one that’s finished. This new doll is taking me more time because she’s articulated. That way, she can strike poses, and I think that’s a big plus. So far, I’ve been working on her for a few days, sewing on and off, especially now that I’m experimenting with clothing, which I find more challenging than making the doll itself.
I’ll figure out how to make a mini doll that fits the scale of the kits. They’re pretty small, so let’s see what I can come up with!
Not crazy at all — I think that’s an awesome idea! Tiny crochet dolls in your miniatures would add such a personal and magical touch. Can totally picture one sitting on a little bed or shelf. You should definitely try it!
