[Product Review] TGE07 Fluffy Bakery

As an ambassador I have been provided the opportunity to build and to review The Fluffy Bakery.

Let me preface this review by saying that this is not a kit that I would ordinarily buy to build for myself. Don’t get me wrong. It’s pretty cute, but it’s just not me.

I’m not going to lie, I had issues with building this kit. Although the kit states ‘no glue’ I used quite a bit because the pieces would fall out. The start of the build is putting in the back wall and building the interior structures. Much of the furniture is very thin wood and is quite flimsy. At one point, as I was attempting to put the first stretch curve piece on the base, the back fell apart. As I attempted to catch it, I broke the stretch piece. I managed to then break it in a second spot. After trying different glues, I found one that held the piece together that allowed me to continue the build. Although there are many spare parts in the kit; there was none for this piece.

This build is filled with numerous hunny jars. Perfect for the Bear’s bakery!! And so very fun.

And I found another little ‘Easter egg’. September 3 was the day that this kit was released in the store.

So, let me get to my pros and cons.

Cons:

  • The kit requires glue even though it is marketed as no glue
  • Many of the tabs on the outer walls required sanding and waxing to fit the tabs properly
  • Some of the furniture is made from thin wood so a gentle touch is required

Pros:

  • The build is fully enclosed with a dust cover including the lovely little heart on the roof
  • It has touch lighting and the lighting was fairly straight forward to install.
  • The battery box is concealed on the back but easily accessible
  • The instructions are easy to follow (but I still had parts left over that I don’t know where they were meant to go ).
  • Overall, it is a cute build but needs a gentle hand in some parts and brute force in others.

Obviously, every person will have a different experience in building, and this contains just my personal experiences. It really is such a cute kit though.

Thank you so much for such a thorough and honest review. As we both know, everyone struggles differently. It still turned out very nice.

Thank you for your honest review. I still like how it turned out … and i have to be honest, the cat and the bear are just too adorable for me to skip this build … but probably not in the near future :slightly_smiling_face:

That’s a great review @Suzanne_Jones . I appreciate the honesty.
I find the kit interesting but it is something I will go crazy to buy. I wish there were more 3d components.
Thanks for sharing! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

It’s great to read a really honest review, the kit is super cute but it’s a shame about the issues. There’s probably a lot of people that would give up if this was their first experience of building a miniature model kit

I do love that they put the little Easter egg in and the little Teddy inside the shop is super cute

It does look cute. It’s funny how sometimes rolife are hit and miss with the quality of their kits. Some of their designs are nice and solid and others flimsy and poorly fitting. It’s like there’s no consistency that they are working towards.

looking forward to adding this to the collection

you mentioned that this isn’t the type of kit you’d normally get, do you mean that in the way the kit is physically designed or do you mean you’re not much of a book nook person?

Thank you for your thorough review. It’s really good to know when things need extra effort or glue to be successful. It turned out very sweet in the end.
