[Pro Tips] Work in progress - Gravity Swing Santa

I’m not hurrying with this build. Mainly because it is outside my comfort zone of my usual miniature builds. But, I’m enjoying it even though my fingers are a little sore.
It’s probably taking me a bit longer due to the fact that I’m colouring all the edges.

I could finish it tonight but I’m watching the football (rugby league) at the same time and it’s not going our way, so I figure that I’m better off putting it away and not working on the kit when I’m not happy with the referees ha ha

I think you’re doing the right thing by taking your time.Stepping outside your comfort zone is all part of the fun, and all that edge painting is definitely worth the extra effort. And I completely agree with putting the kit away for the night. Building is much more enjoyable when you’re relaxed. Hopefully the next session comes with happier rugby results too!

It looks so good!! I really like how you’re coloring the edges. It makes the kit look so much more alive. You’re doing a great job! I can’t wait to see the finished build.

I made this just christmas past and i loved it… getting it all together for your meet up…

I love this Christmas kit! It’s on my to-do list—is it very difficult?

I really enjoyed doing this one but I did make one mistake along the way. I forgot to put my little ball inside Santa’s sleigh and had to unbuild it partially through. Don’t do that.. LOL

There’s no prize for finishing first, just enjoy the journey!

I think you’re approaching it in exactly the right way.

@Suzanne_Jones taking your time with Gravity Swing Santa sounds like the right call, especially with all that edge coloring. The reindeer and painted edges already show the extra care, and putting the kit away during a stressful rugby moment was probably wise crafting instinct.

@Nita_Davis this is exactly the kind of build note that saves someone a frustrating backtrack later. The little ball in Santa’s sleigh is now officially the detail to double-check.

Just a silly mistake on my part…

At least I wasn’t as upset at the football result as my daughter ha ha
I’ll finish this up shortly.

Hahaha, that’s probably for the best! :joy::yellow_heart: Finishing a build while in a good mood is always a safer choice. Hopefully your daughter has recovered from the football result by now too! I’m looking forward to seeing the finished build. It already looks fantastic!
