Hi crafters!
I wanted to share my experience building with wire. Im currently working on the older version of Emily’s Flower Shop, which includes the wire shelf.

My top tips for making this is to make yourself a template on greaseproof paper, and use this to make sure you keep all angles square. I made each side using the same template and this helped me a lot with consistency.

I also used a block of wood of the right size to make the crossbars - I found using a block to wrap the wire across easier than measuring, and gave me more consistently sized pieces

Finally, someone on another forum told me that ensuring the wire is very straight to start with gives best results. Happy crafting!

Looks great @Tracie ! I’ve also bought pre straightened florist wire and use that in many kits. It comes up great. I’ve been working on this one too :blush:

I think you’ve done an amazing job, because as an orthodontist, I’m constantly dealing with wires throughout the day, and I believe the work you’ve done is fantastic, flawless.

Hi @Tracie I am such a visual person, please feel free to make a post with a video showing a little bit. These sounds like fantastic tips. Also can you clarify the grease paper. I have no idea what that is. Thank you so much! I really want to hear more as these kits with so much handmade stuff are challenges to me

The template idea and using a wood block are genius. Consistency is always the hardest part with wire. I’ll definitely keep this in mind for future builds. Happy crafting to you too!
