[Pro Tips] I guess I goofed -lighting

I posted the final pictures of my Street Scene book nook and as I mentioned, there were no lights in the subway tunnel on the side. So I tried my hand at installing another light. It looked awesome and worked great…until it didn’t. I turned it on a couple of times and then it didn’t work. Then I replaced that light with a new one…same thing happened. It worked a couple times and then it didn’t. I’m thinking that I used incorrect type of wires to connect it to the other lights I the build? Idk what happened, but, sadly, I removed the light. I might try again with a different light in a few days. I’m so bummed because the gooseneck light I used was so perfect…it looked like it belonged there.

It’s perfect. It appears to be on in the picture…but are you saying it is not working again?

The lez looks great!

Check it again one day when you have more time and see what’s happening.

Awh the train! I just love it!

I am sure that you can make it work after giving yourself a little break from this.
The scene looks so true!

You’re right, that light is perfect. I’d suggest stepping away and coming back to it with fresh eyes. If it worked at first then the problem must be an easy fix. Good luck :crossed_fingers:

@Nita_Davis no, it quit working. So did another one that I tried. Both were brand new.

@Sasa I did check it thoroughly. Tried a new light and also a different battery pack and different wires. It worked until I contracted it to the other lights in the kit.

@Jo1 I tried everything. Had to throw the lights away. I will try installing a different type of light later.

@Suzanne_Jones unfortunately it’s not an easy tix. Three it away. Will try a different type of light in a few days.

@ThaoNguyen it was great, until it wasn’t. Doesn’t work anymore.

That is such a shame.

WOW! I guess maybe it has to do with a certain gauge of wire that the battery pack can support? I’m no electrician…but judging from a comment below…maybe it will have to be the same as what came with the kit? That’s a bummer.

@Nita_Davis I really have no clue about wiring either. I just thought a 3v light would work with a 3v battery pack. I don’t know how to figure out what wiring to use.

Clueless here but maybe that question can be answered at the show?

I wouldn’t know where to start another light you are talented.

It sounds like you gave that gooseneck light the perfect stage in your Street Scene book nook, and I totally get the bummed feeling when it didn’t keep shining. Trying different wires is a smart move, and your persistence shows true DIY spirit. I’m sure your next lighting attempt will be even brighter and just as perfect as you imagined.
