👍 [Pro Tips] Adding More Tools To The Pile 🖌 🧰

I finally got my hands on some markers! Super excited to start working with these. They’re not too expensive so I think they’re a worthy investment. Very grateful for my friend who got these for me since they’re sold out at my local store. :pink_heart:

I tested them out and they do seem to work well enough on wood. For the most part, it only takes two coats for full coverage and only one coat for black. :artist_palette:

I’m generally quite happy using paint but I sometimes find it tricky and tedious to work on edges and I felt this even more with the book nooks. With my recent book nook build, I kept wishing I had markers for the edges.

And so I went:
Minions' Shopping Spree: Movie-Size Mayhem

I also ended up grabbing some origami paper when I walked past the aisle and couldn’t resist. They’re double-sided and will come in handy for my future customisation projects when I don’t feel like painting. The small stack of cardstock paper is from @Jo_Zanella and it’s one of my cherished possessions. :pink_heart:

I also feel the need to show off my lucky trinket that I keep on my crafting desk. It’s the wrapping paper station from Emily’s Flower Shop (a kit I probably would never make, because plants) that @Jo_Zanella made. :star_struck:

I love it so much, words can’t describe how lucky and happy I am to have it. :pink_heart: When I take breaks from my builds, I always stop to admire it and spin the little rolls. This is one of the sweetest things I’ve ever received, and it makes my heart swell.

Oh you are more than welcome Jade @JDisaduck, you are always so kind and supportive to everyone here. It was my pleasure :face_blowing_a_kiss:

Can’t wait to hear how the markers go and the origami paper is beautiful. It’s very handy to have these bits on hand. If you want the markers to go a bit further, paint an undercoat of white gesso (I love Liquitex gesso). It will make your markers pop and it seals the wood so you won’t need as much paint on top xx

Thank you @Nita_Davis :face_blowing_a_kiss: it came out better than I’d hoped. I traced the original and cut it out with a craft knife and lots of sanding. Love a challenge :joy:

We have Anko here in my country. I think I should check out those brushes too

I love those floral papers, they’re so pretty. And that paper rack is so lovely to look at :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Oh you definitely could @Nita_Davis. You have built so many kits you know more than you realise :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: it is really just breaking it down piece by piece. A lot of the pieces are just rectangles. Because I use thin ply or balsa wood it can be cut with a craft knife. If you ever want to try you can just message me and we can always FaceTime :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

It’s so cute isn’t it! I show it to everyone who comes to my craft room.

And yes the papers are amazing! The quality is pretty good and because they’re double sided I have so many patterns to choose from. :pink_heart:

Haha I was contemplating if I should post about it but this was the perfect post to add onto. Everyone’s just so kind here.

Hehe! :pink_heart:

Ohhhhh are you finally painting your plants?! :smiling_face_with_horns:

I got the makers from our local Kmart store! I’m not sure what the equivalent is in Canada but it’s just a massive store that sells everything. The items are usually cheap so it’s hit and miss with quality but these markers are pretty good! :pink_heart:

Aww Jo I hope I hope I didn’t put you under the spotlight unexpectedly! But I’m really so proud of my rack I show it off to everyone. My partner was most impressed when I told him it was made from scratch.

Oh I’m definitely getting some white gesso then! Thank you for your advice! :pink_heart:
