👍 [Pro Tips] #3 DG161: Becka's Baking House - My most disastrous build by far!

This might be the most disastrous build I’ve done so far. I worked on this kit after work every night until almost dawn and it was also the first thing I checked every time I woke up. That’s how hooked I was!

As you can see, I completely messed up the floor. I installed some pieces on the wrong side, so I couldn’t place the correct flooring anymore. I just left it plain.

The yellow hanging cabinet was supposed to just snap into place, but since I built the framework wrong, the holes didn’t line up. I ended up cutting the back part and gluing it instead just to make it work.

I definitely learned a lot from this build and also learned that building while half-awake is not a good idea. :joy:

It’s normal for the first kit not to be perfect.

You can’t tell it’s wrong; you’ve disguised it well.

well I do not know what you did, but it looks fine to me! And now you know a few lessons that will only make you stronger for future builds!

I can’t even spot your mistakes. Nice job. The next one will be much easier.

I guess you got to excited but it happens to anyone. Your baking house still looks nice though. I won’t even notice if you didn’t say so.

It still looks great though I understand your frustration. I did many mistakes too when I’m forcing myself to build things to midnight. I installed many things on the wrong places too.

And yet, you can’t tell that you made these mistakes! It looks great. And the plain floor is great too.
I think we are often very hard on ourselves but the end result looks fantastic.

Thank you. I am happy with the result too. I had to make it work. I disturbed my husband in the process

After completing kit after kit, I learned not to be so serious in building. I am more into enjoying the process now

That’s definitely a lesson learned but I still enjoyed it. This kit has it’s own story

Kabayan, I feel your pain! :sob: Building until dawn is basically an invitation for the “glitch in the matrix” where floors end up on ceilings. Honestly, the "plain floor just looks like a minimalist renovation! Very modern! And that hanging cabinet? That’s not a mistake, that’s “custom engineering”. :star_struck: You’re not a mess-up, you’re an architect who makes their own rules! :joy::shortcake:

Thank you! It was a struggle but I learned a lot from it. On to the next build!
