I just received my prize from the Halloween Giveaway Round 3, and I’m very excited. The Pumpkin Cart is absolutely adorable, and I’ve been wanting to paint one of these wooden kits for a long time.
But here’s the thing: even though this isn’t my first 3D wooden puzzle, I still feel like a complete beginner when it comes to deciding how to paint it. I already have some paints (I’ll show them soon), but right now I’m completely out of ideas.
What I don’t want is to paint it fully orange. I’d love something more original, maybe a different color palette, but inspiration hasn’t struck yet.
So I thought I’d ask:
Do you have any cool ideas or color combinations for painting the Pumpkin Cart?
Something spooky, elegant, cute… I’m open to anything!
Painting is not my strong suit. I can’t help you with any good painting advice. I’ll let the experts of the group weigh in. I will be paying attention because I may try to paint this model too.
When I first saw this, I immediately thought of the very old Cinderella Movie with Lesley Ann Warren. Many of you may be too young to know it. But it was always how I pictured. Silver and gold and glittery This is just an example but I would Google Cinderella’s carriage for ideas! This will be so fun to see what you decide!
Congratulations on your win. Here is my pumpkin cart I chose to go a bit more princess like and of course added some gold for a bit of Regency. This tiny little thing is harder than it looks like to assemble. Good luck
Thank you so much! It really is adorable in person.
And same here, painting isn’t my strongest skill either, so I’m very curious to see what ideas the experts share. Maybe we’ll both get inspired!
Ohhh that’s such a lovely reference! I just googled Cinderella’s carriage and you’re right, all the silver, gold and sparkles would look amazing. Thank you for the inspiration, I’m definitely adding this to my idea board!
Thank you, Nita! Yours looks absolutely beautiful, so elegant and regal. I love the gold touches! And yes, it really seems trickier than it looks. Wish me luck!
Thank you! And that’s actually a brilliant idea, the kids are always full of wild and fun suggestions. I might ask them and see what magical chaos they come up with!
