Oops, apparently I finished this one a few days ago and completely forgot to post it.
This ice cream shop kit is labeled as beginner, but I do think it helps if you’ve done at least one or two builds before going into it. There were a couple of spots where doing things in a slightly different order would have made the process smoother, especially around the section above the windows where things felt a bit out of order.
I ended up making a few changes along the way. The kit uses a little rivet for the door knob, and I just wasn’t a fan of how that looked, so I swapped it out with one of my extra door knobs from past builds. I also accidentally installed the cover on the ice cream cart backwards at first, which meant pulling it apart and redoing it. Thankfully it all worked out in the end.
For some added detail, I used white resin in a few places The top of the ice cream cart had some empty glass sections that felt like they needed something, so I filled those in and added a tiny fruit slice. There’s also a bowl with a spoon that really looked like it should have something in it, so I added a bit of “melted ice cream” there too. That not only made it look more realistic but also helped secure the spoon in place.
One thing I always have to remind myself with these kits is how the frames work. It can look like the insert isn’t pushed in far enough because you can still see things like wires, but once everything is fully assembled, the thickness of the frame and the tabs at the bottom cover it all nicely.
Overall, this one turned out really fun and super stinking cute with all the tiny dessert details
What miniature food theme would you want to see turned into a kit?
Kim_Kieffer, this is absolutely adorable, those tiny scoops really do have big personality! The little ice cream display feels so cheerful and full of charm, it is such a sweet build. Thanks for sharing this bit of miniature joy with us, it made our day!
