There are some kits that are technically simple builds but absolutely overflowing with personality, and this Hello Kitty Supermarket was one of those for me. I picked up the DWL06 as a bundle with the roof and doors included on AliExpress, and I’m really glad I did because it makes the whole thing feel like a finished little display instead of just an open room.
The colors in this kit are so cheerful. Between the soft pink floor, the bright red shelving, and all the tiny branded food boxes, it honestly feels like walking into a miniature cartoon convenience store. Everywhere you look there’s another little detail to notice.
The vending cooler on the side is adorable, but the surprise feature for me was the tiny gumball machine. It actually works. I was absolutely not expecting that, and it completely cracked me up the first time I turned it and the little balls dropped down correctly. Tiny interactive features like that make a kit so much more memorable to me.
This was one of those relaxing builds where I could just sit back in my recliner and enjoy watching the whole scene slowly come together piece by piece without fighting the kit the whole way through.
What’s a tiny detail or unexpected feature in a miniature kit that completely won you over?
Hi @Kim_Kieffer, the working little gumball machine is such a delightful detail. Your photos and story capture exactly why tiny interactive surprises can turn a simple build into something memorable and joyful.
Thanks everyone! I just had to stick one gumball at the mouth of the dispenser too. Just so cute. And I was only going to get just this one but now I’m thinking it looks so sad all alone …
