Apart from paint, wondering how well other mediums such as markers, colour pencils, etc work on wood?

Posca markers work really well.

I think you can paint the structures with any acrylic marker or paint, but if you buy cheap versions there is a chance that it won’t cover well.

There are some other posts on different mediums work. Im not sure what you could search to find them though sorry and i cant remember who posted them. There was one just a few days ago and the person tested alcohol markers and different paints.
