Dream Gift Factory: Ninth Update

Oh my Gosh! I’ haven’t been able to build for a few days (many stories, but let’s just say my girlfriend just lost her canary after sixteen years and it’s not been the happiest weekend), but now I’m a bit back into it and man, is it taking shape!

I had just enough time to finish the chimney area and I love how the colors and shapes are coming together. So exciting!

I also decided to go for the next little step and build the main facade, the one with the Dream Gift Factory name and logo!

This is definitely going somewhere and I’m afraid I may even be able to finish my factory this very week. Why am I “afraid” about it? Well, you know that feeling when you’re reading a book or watching some TV series you’re absolutely loving? You really want to read/watch the end and find out how everything comes together, and you know you’ll for sure enjoy it like hell, but you’ll miss the process, the “I enjoy a bit of this every day”, because it’s done. And you’ll look for another book to read, another series to watch, but you’re not sure if you’ll enjoy it the same way. It’s kind of a similar feeling with this! But it’s okay, I’ve already got a full wishlist for when it’s over

I’m really, truly, loving the process. If it was satisfying to craft the insides of it, the mechanisms, to see it all work together and move smoothly… There’s something magical and special about the process of kind of complementing it now with the colors, the outsides, the decoration, the skin, the makeup if you will. I’m really eager to see it done and working. Christmas is coming, folks!

It’s not good news that you lost canary. But you’re back with the model, that’s good news.

I totally get what you mean haha! Towards the end of my builds, I take a long time putting things together just to enjoy every second.

Also I’m sorry about the canary. :sob:

Exactly my point! Is like… After putting together everything that makes it work, it’s time for the “enjoy the beautiful process” of the details on the exterior. What a wonder!

Thanks!

Same here  I already have the 3D Airplane I’ve got for the October Mistery Prize ready, and either way, as soon as I’m done with the factory I’ll go straight for the Cuckoo Clock, I’m really eager to build it

I’m sorry about your canary. Pets are like members of the family it can be really devastating when one is harmed.

I usually don’t feel sad about finishing a kit because I am excited about starting the next one.

I totally get the feeling. It is all about the journey not the destination for me. I like to take my time for a build.

That’s such an accurate way to describe it. I often feel that too

Thank you! Yes, they are, and I’m actually 99% sure already that my next build after the small Airplane will be the Cuckoo Clock

So sorry to hear about your canary. Glad you are able to get back to building. T is looking great.

It’s a bittersweet feeling indeed! But I’m really curious about how the full thing will look on the shelves :stuck_out_tongue:

Thank you! They are indeed. I’ve lost a dog a few years back and I still feel the absence.

Me too, as you well know :stuck_out_tongue: but you can always feel it when the end is near haha
