[DIY & Creativity] Update 01: Alice's Dreamy Bedroom

I agree. Older kits are more challenging. I always take my time with them - whether I like it or not. hehehhehe

This pillows look way better than plastic ones! They are so cute. If you get yourself some white gesso, it’s a great primer for paint and your paint will go further  @joy.licerio

Thanks. Can I send them to you? ahahhaha? I dont enjoy the process of painting, waiting for it to get dry, then applying again. The mess, the smell and all.. hahahah. But I will do it over and over again if I have to. All for the love of building a memorable kit.

Ha ha you made laugh Joy. It can be a lot of fussing. I tend to use Jo Sonja acrylic paints. They generally dry fairly quick and I don’t feel like they smell too much. They also dry matte. I have been considering buying some Guangna acrylic markers after some good reviews on here, so maybe that could be an option to make things easier for you?
Hope your future painting goes quick and painlessly :face_blowing_a_kiss: x

All those that you mentioned sound so alien to me! What now? All that I use was the paint that went with the kit. I dont think I can ever know any of those kinds of paint even if my life depends on it!

As with everything we do with these kits we can make it as simple or complicated as we like lol :joy:. Just DM me if you have any questions I’m happy to guide you through. It’s not really too hard. Here are some pics of the products I was talking about. At the end of the day you do what you enjoy  @joy.licerio

Have you tried the Kaiser paints Jo? I have so many of them. I do have some Jo Sonja but not as many. Just wondering which ones would work better.

No I haven’t tried the Kaisercraft ones Sue. What are your thoughts between the two? I think if a white gesso was used underneath you’d probably get good coverage with either.

I do also use the little bottles of Tim Holtz distress paint. I love that they have more colours but they have a little bit more sheen than Jo Sonja and they take longer to dry. I also find they dry up in the bottle quicker. The JS paints last years. Curious on your thoughts as Kaiser look like they have some lovely colours.

I’ve been tempted to buy the Guangna acrylic markers. Honestly I do not need any more paint but omg they are so pretty and have so many colours :joy::joy::joy:

I’ve only used Kaiser for mixed media stuff and I really love the colours. I think Jo Sonja paints are more for traditional art. Not used a lot of Tim Holyz but I’m sure I’ve got some distress ink pads laying around. Oohhhh, thinking outside the box here.
Might be worth a try with Kaiser on some off cuts to see how it goes.

As I was reading your reply, I can’t understand a thing! What now? I’m pretty sure you were using English, but I can’t catch anything at all! ahahaha

I’m lovin the tutorial but I’m afraid these paints are not available here or wouldn’t be able to recognize one even if my life depends on it

Would love to hear your results if you do a test Sue. I use my JS for everything. I’ve painted and used them in mixed media, made art dolls and painted them and now the kits. I really like that they are matte.
The distress inks would come in handy distressing little papers in kits. I love frayed burlap in the ink and walnut stain in the paint. I worked in a scrapbooking shop and there are so many products that cross over to miniatures and other crafts. It was like catnip for me there :joy::joy::joy:
