Tonight is the last night of our time away and tomorrow we head back to the real world.
I’m a little sad.
The great news is that I have spent time this week with my headphones on, singing along to my songs, and building! I feel like my old self is coming back again- just in time to return to work
So, on to this kit.
I fell in love with it online.
I thought it would be a snap together 2D kit but I have never glued so much in a kit as I did on this. The notches were all loose so glue was a must or everything falls apart. I had to put a head on the glue for greater precision but ended up going back to my B7000 due to it being so stringy. Cobwebs everywhere!
I painted all the edges and my red/brown pen ran out. Although, in hindsight I wonder why I did paint edges when you can’t see much once the book comes together.
The little cart was plain wood that I painted brown.
Once you put the sides together, the lighting needs to be placed into the square box at the top. The circuit board wouldn’t fit into the slots properly so I had to make the slots in the wood larger to fit it.
The lighting is on a sensor (which is a great idea).
Overall, I’m happy with the outcome of the nook. It’s different to others I’ve done and looks pretty cool.
The wood is sturdy and there were no issues removing the pieces.
However, it certainly doesn’t compare to Robotime.
