Progress on this one has been slow. Each one of those movable legs took me about an hour each to build. The feet of my mama dinosaur have brand new treads on them which will hopefully help her in carrying her baby to safety. There has been a lot of sanding and waxing on this one. I have run out of paint that I mixed for the brown base color so I am hoping that I can still match that same base. I wanted the inside of the legs and the underbelly to be a lighter color because that’s what I see on most animals. All of the parts are completed and now I just need to put them all together. There will be more painting to do after it is assembled
ahhh there is a lot more to that then realized. This is looking pretty cool thus far!
I love the number of pieces it has; it looks complex.
You did it in such detail. Everything really required patience.
I still have a long way to go @jeanneL . This is much harder than I expected…and I still haven’t quite figured out what I will do with painting details.
It is looking really good! Where did you find eyes like that?
They come in the kit. The ONLY thing already painted. @Tkaplan
This dinosaur is coming along very nicely.
I know you and know you will get this done! Well I know you on here LOL. But you always persevere!
Looking awesome! I love how much traction her feet have! Some real off-reading feet! ![]()
Oh yea! This girl got on the best traction you can buy…solid Nike stuff. She better run like Flo-Jo once she is done! In case you are too young to know…https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Florence_Griffith_Joyner @Atropex
That woman was beyond fast! Like lightening! ![]()
![]()
Oh yes! She definitely was…and these gears move so fast that I might call my dino Flo-Jo
IF she moves on finishing… @jeanneL
Your dedication and attention to detail on this Velociraptor are truly inspiring! Every hour spent on those movable legs and the thoughtful painting choices show such care and passion. Keep going—you’re creating something truly special that tells a beautiful story through your craftsmanship!
I’m amazed on the dinosaur’s eyes. It looks real. The colors are great. ![]()
Thanks. The dinosaur’s eyes are the only thing that come painted. The rest of my colors come later. @serenebliss_23
Thank you. This one has been a struggle, but I always love a good challenge.
It only has 189 piece but they are very hard to figure out where they go. @Sasa
It looks really nice! I thought your dino was green at first? Brown suits her very well too ![]()
Oh no…the only green I’ve added was for the stripes on the baby’s nose (which were blue from the original kit). That will come later @Liset
