Inspired by all the creativity at the meetup, I decided it was time to start another large project. This time I’m diving into the ROKR Gift Factory Magic Amusement Park EAB01.
So far I’ve mostly been working on the gear mechanisms and some of the early assembly. There’s honestly not a whole lot to show yet besides some moving parts starting to come together, but it already feels like one of those builds where the engineering is going to be a huge part of the fun.
One thing I decided to do right away was pre-sort all of the little steel shafts and screws into containers before getting too deep into the build. I have a feeling that’s going to make things much easier later instead of constantly hunting for tiny parts.
I haven’t made it to the first power test yet, but I’m definitely curious to see how all of this motion is going to work once everything starts connecting together.
Oh wow! This is on my wish list.
I cant help but notice you are so organized. I love the small boxes you have there. I dont think I can ever be that organized.
Will happily follow your progress.
Hi @Kim_Kieffer, starting the Gift Factory after the meetup energy feels like a perfect next big project. Pre sorting the shafts and screws is such a helpful move, and we are excited to see the first power test.
Honestly the little boxes are saving me on this project. There are so many tiny shafts and screws that I knew I’d spend half my time hunting for parts otherwise.
Thank you! The meetup definitely inspired me to dive right into another large build. And yes, after opening the box and seeing all the tiny shafts and screws, I knew pre-sorting was going to save my sanity later. I’m really looking forward to seeing more of the factory come to life with each power test.
I did think about waiting but I really wanted to tackle something challenging like this and I’ve already done the coffee factory plus bonus it’ll be ready and plenty of time for the holiday
The last ‘larger’ build? I guess I would say the A-frame cabin. The smaller ones always seem to me to take a LOT more time though. My bridal book nook took me about 2 weeks.
