This is not a Robotime or Rolife kit, and out of respect for the company, I’m not naming the brand here. If you’re curious, it’s easy enough to find.
I’ve been continuing on Whispering Hollow and worked through steps 74–161 this session, so this was a pretty big chunk of progress. For perspective, this build has a total of 263 steps, so it’s starting to feel like real progress.
This is where the build really starts to shift. I began working on the village houses and got some of the lights installed, and that completely changes how it looks. Seeing that warm glow inside the house and around the structures makes it feel like an actual little scene instead of just pieces.
The waterfall pieces were probably the trickiest part so far. Both the smaller and larger sections use those accordion-style plastic pieces, and I was honestly a little nervous bending them since there aren’t spare plastic parts. I’m pretty sure I didn’t bend the larger one as much as the instructions showed, so mine ended up more of a cascading waterfall instead of the tighter look in the book. It might be just a tiny bit crooked, but at this point it is what it is and I’m okay with how it looks.
The larger waterfall piece also gave me a bit of trouble during placement. It has a tab at the end, and I used super glue to attach a rock before I had everything perfectly lined up, so that took some adjusting to get it into place. I’ve been using super glue throughout this build and it’s been working well for me, but this was one of those moments where I wished I had something just as fast but a little more forgiving.
Everything is still fitting together well, and I’m glad I held off on making any changes earlier since I can see how things are starting to layer in now.
What do you think of how the village and lighting are coming together so far?
