I didn’t know this kit came with paper. But hey, just think about the result! It’s a really lovely kit.
@Grey74 the Seahorse Barque is clearly putting your patience through a full sea trial! The delicate black panels and paper covering sound frustrating, but your weathered pirate-ship plan feels much more personal than leaving it regal and untouched.
@Nita_Davis sanding the entire black sheet for a weathered finish is a bold and genuinely useful customization idea. Your offer to find the alternative sail method could also save a lot of frustration when the rigging stage arrives—thank you for sharing experience from your own build.
Oh I am excited to see how you create it to look more aged, though I agree with the paper part, it might be a bit difficult to work around it but hopefully it’ll all work out
Ahoy Matey! Made me chuckle as always!
Good luck! Looking forward to seeing your build! ![]()
I look forward to seeing your finished build and your pirates.
I’m so pleased that David told you he was ready!!
This is going to be awesome.
It looks great! I loved making the cannons
I am always willing to offer any advice I have from my previous experiences.
you got this @Grey74! we believe in you!

@DeeLiza thank you for that. I needed it today.
It’s definitely coming along, even if slowly! I actually love that you already have plans to customize it and give it that more aged, weathered pirate-ship look. The printed pirates should make such a fun addition! And good luck with those cables when you get to them, I’ll be cheering you on through the patience-testing part!
thank you @MamaNheza I appreciate your support!
you’re welcome! we’re cheering for you!
