[Challenge & Achievement] Five-storied Pagoda complete 🗼

Hi!

I thought this day would never come!

But yes, hahaha, you’re seeing right, I finished the pagoda! Woohoo!

It’s the kit I’ve created the most posts about in the community, it’s like the movie The NeverEnding Story hahaha.

Despite the difficult journey, I must admit that once finished it is beautiful and very epic.

Just thinking about how beautiful it will look the day I move in and put it up with all my Japanese things! I can’t wait hahaha

It’s the kit where I’ve broken the most pieces, chipped the most pieces, and had to sand the most.

That’s why I created a post asking for advice about sandpaper and what you use. If I had known, I would have asked sooner, but this way I’ll be prepared for the next wood kit.

Thanks to everyone who has supported each post and encouraged me to continue.
I stopped building it several times, but I was motivated to keep going because it’s a Japanese kit and I absolutely wanted it finished.

When I finished, I looked at the box and it says level 2. I think this kit is incorrectly rated as level 2. I’ve built quite a few kits, and if a beginner buys this one, they could end up frustrated by breaking so many pieces or having them splinter.

Furthermore, it says it doesn’t require glue, but it does. For example, the bottom roofs don’t stay in place; I ended up gluing them all. And the top hoops move and fall off; I’ll probably end up gluing those too.

It’s a small but killer kit, hahaha

I think it has a lot of charm in its natural wood color.

I’d love for Rolife to release a colored version, as I’m a perfectionist. I’m hesitant to paint it myself and risk the paint not taking the color properly, showing pieces of wood, or the tone changing because the wood absorbs the paint.

Positive points:

  • It’s aesthetically beautiful

Negative points:

  • It’s not a level 2 kit
  • It does require glue
  • This kit will test your patience and your fingers
  • The wood breaks easily
  • The wood splinters a lot
  • It’s a repetitive kit; you have to enjoy repeating the same thing 5 times
  • It’s a small kit

I’m sorry I can’t see anything more positive about it.

As always, here’s the video I made about this kit. Go check it out, it deserves it, haha, after all the work it took! Like, comment, share, save, and follow me to support me! :pink_heart:
