I think these things are getting to easy for me as i finished it this in one day, so much for doing that while i need to take care of my son from Wednesday, o well i find something else to create then, maybe i start the Garden Ramble then
i started to reflect being on the community over the last few weeks after being on here for a year, some of you won’t be surprised what i am going to say next and i just going to speak my mind like i always do because this is how i am, i just say things, i spoke about it to some people privately about his matter, i think the atmosphere really changed on here since a few months, people just make meaningless posts (i get flagged for less than what I sometimes see getting posted here) and it has all just becomes down to earning points and i feel it is getting about stuff for free, i bet some people ignore their other hobbies for the building and that is really sad, personally i just don’t care about the Leaderboard, if i want something i just buy it and or i just save up for it, i am now going to use a word my daughter uses for the community/Leaderboard, she calls it a toxic thing, i am sure other people will agree with me that it is all about getting free stuff for some, but will be afraid to actually saying it out loud, yes i do post about my sewing and food but i make sure it is not besides the question of building and do that under a building post, because if i don’t i get flagged in seconds, speaking about the flagging, flagging is just childish behavior, get out there and enjoy some of the maybe last days of summer instead of being behind your screens, talk to people in person, for me it is still about the building, the creating and i am still a fan of getting a section where we can also show our other talents other than building, yes it is nice getting something ad the end of the month and i am always really thankful for that, i even buy more than a get and that is okay for me
And yes I agree with you about the leaderboard. I only have the points I have because I am genuinely interested in this place and peoples lives. Because I found a community where I feel comfortable in and I can share my life and see how others are doing as well. It’s much more than (or supposed to be) a place for points gathering. I want to know what other crafts and hobbies people have.
However I do understand why people would be upset for items outside of Robotime purview. It is a Robotime community and can see where things may be considered not germane to the subject. Do I agree? No.
This hobby encompasses so much more than building kits and models. Nobody got to this point just by starting out working on these things. It seems that everybody had a start in some part of a different hobby or crafting skill. Myself I began working on models as I was younger and doing lots of artwork, this transferred into me making miniatures. Because of that, I think we should all celebrate the other things that brought us here whether it be knitting, making jewelry, poetry, even or 3-D printing. All of these things are part of the craft of doing miniatures and 3-D builds.
@Sofie_Vanderbeken its definitely all about the building and being creative and enjoying your hobby..I know you have been flagged for adding your sewing and food which is under your build but its nice to see … flagging those posts is very sad really i agree this is a community where you like to share what you are doing … I can also buy my own kits and bought many just like you … so for me its about interacting with others who also love being creative … Its also nice to do other hobbies as well … i’ve always loved scrapbooking and collecting my mini brands and i also like to see what other people like doing besides there kits ..well sai @Sofie_Vanderbeken
Unfortunately, you aren’t the only one; people are constantly reporting me, too. Some folks really need to get a life and leave others alone.
The main focus is supposed to be on building things, but there’s nothing wrong with posting about a sweet treat or your sewing projects. There are bitter people in this world who want to make others miserable, too.
Sorry, I didn’t read the whole paragraph until just now.
@Anje_Leonoza_Mira i will do a video about them moving all 6 together later, at the moment this is not a priority for me as i will have to take care of son after his operation starting Wednesday, i had the hospital calling me twice today and they will call me tomorrow again taking the last preparations for his surgery Wednesday, my son has a disability (ASS) and this is not an easy thing for him going to have to go thru this
Thanks so much for sharing this. I agree with you completely. I have started to see a lot more posts that have absolutely nothing to do with crafting at all. I did flag a post yesterday. It was a post where the question asked has already been answered in the body of the topic itself. Redundant in my opinion. After flagging that post, I had SIX of my posts flagged and then restored within minutes. The six that were flagged were all completely valid crafting posts. The same thing happened 10 days ago. I had 6 posts flagged and then restored again. All valid crafting posts. The same thing occurred 21 days ago when TWELVE posts were flagged and restored within minutes. ALL of these occurred after I have flagged a post for ‘self promotion’. If people are sharing something via their IG account that has NOTHING to do with crafting, they are merely trying to promote their IG account. This is right in the community rules. In my 14 months here, I have only flagged 4 posts. The one I mentioned above…and 3 for self promotion. In return, I have a total of 23 posts of mine flagged (JUST in the last 21 days) and then immediately restored because NONE of them were valid flags. Just petty ‘paybacks’. I agree that this kind of behavior is VERY childish…and my inbox filled with flags proves it.
I do enjoy posting my crafts and I do enjoy the free prizes. Being on a fixed income, it helps that I can still enjoy the hobby I love. I will continue to share them and I will also throw out a flag when I see a need. FOUR in 14 months, that is all.
I enjoy seeing others crafts as well.
I love your honesty, and tbh I feel the same. This month was terrible i shared a lot of things that i was happy about but at the end I put my time here and i had this idea in my head that I’d been trying to write honestly about my stuff all month, trying to avoid spam posts, but in the end, I got sucked into this game myself, and I’m angry with myself. So, halfway through the month, I decided this would be my last month commenting on anything – I’d only post my own builds or support people whose posts I enjoy reading, but for the rest – no thanks. Today I’m also done. I can’t do it any longer this isn’t me i can be just behind 30 but don’t care any longer. Sorry if you felt bad about my comments or my behavior.
I believe @Robotime needs to pay attention to the comments on here regarding this. There are a lot of upset members who are quality contributors to this community. The last thing they would want is for us to start ignoring a great way to communicate and share our love and passion for this craft.
it is not my intention to focus on someone in particular, i just feel that somehow things like points and free stuff starting to control things on here, i think it is my personal feeling on how things changed in the year that i am here, like i said the atmosphere changed somehow in making it a game and a competition in general, i am not competitive myself but i does sometimes feel like it is all a game getting the highest score and landing the highest and getting free stuff, that is my personal thoughts at the moment about the community at the moment
Your build looks so cool! I definitely agree with you about how the community has changed. I don’t know why people are flagging other people’s posts for no particular reason.
I absolutely agree @Grey74 Robotime has to know where (who) flagged a post. It comes to them in a message from that person, I believe, because you have to state your reason for the flag. When all 23 of my (flagged) topics were reinstated within minutes, you have to assume that they found absolutely NO reason to remove them. These were posts about my finished Space Shuttle, several of my pink Villa, a couple from my guitar, the friendship one…the list goes on and on. Pure pettiness. This should not be tolerated. Incessant flagging should be a reduction in points or something. The admins have plenty to keep them busy without dealing with that sort of stuff. Like I said, three of my four flags on topics have been for self promotion/ business promotion. It’s not a fun thing to wake to an inbox full of flags.
You did a really amazing job on your beacon tower. I hope you enjoyed building it
Also thank you for speaking up. It’s sad to know that the warm atmosphere of the community is changing. I hope everyone else understand the genuine joy of crafting and not just being competitive and flagging other’s posts with no valid reason
