Oh @aga2713 …I have always enjoyed reading your posts. I hope that will never consider NOT posting at all. This post and any comments made here should not reflect on or change your thoughts about commenting or posting. Feel free to share as much or as little as you like. We are all different here in the ways we share…and that’s okay. Hugs to you, my friend.
The one that really annoys me is when someone asks for help and some people feel the need to reply with:
“Sorry I havent built this. Maybe Robotime can help”.
That is blatant point farming.
If you dont know, move on and leave making comments to people who can actually help. Someone does not need to be told that maybe Robotime can help.
Well said. I couln’t agree more and I have not been here that long compared to most of you.
I love these plastic mechanical models. They mnake a nice change when you need a break from wood. Myself, I have the Da Vinci Helicopter, Oil Pump, Hammerhead Shark and Manta Ray.
This is such a cool addition to your collection @Sofie_Vanderbeken you did finish it fast.
And yes, I also feel the same way about the leaderboard. It is becoming a toxic environment - seeing some people promoting their IG even though it’s not related to crafting. I usually just skip those posts. I do hope Robotime takes notice and find a way to bring back the old community’s aura.
I do understand what you mean, especially about the leaderboard and free kits becoming the focus rather than the building itself. But honestly, I do enjoy the leaderboard prizes too
They’re a nice bonus to something I already love doing.
For me, the biggest thing is being able to share what I make with people who actually appreciate it. Outside this community, I don’t really get that, and yesterday I actually heard someone say, “Who would be stupid enough to buy that?” about expensive miniatures. I can’t deny, it affected me more than I expected, because I genuinely love this hobby.
So I guess I’m here for both reasons — I love building and sharing it, and yes, I like the prizes too. ![]()
I suppose everyone gets something different out of the community. For some it’s the leaderboard, for some it’s the kits, and for some of us it’s simply having people who appreciate the hobby. I don’t think any of those things necessarily have to cancel each other out.
Hoped you son’s operation goes well on Wednesday!
Thanks for sharing how you feel and I duno that happening, hoped the toxic atmosphere will be better next month .
This model looks so cool, well done on getting it finished.
And I can understand what you mean about some things not having much meaning or content to them. It surprised me a bit when I first joined up. I hope that the system can be refined to reward meaningful posts and comments.
And I personally enjoy seeing the other crafts and activities people enjoy. I know this is about the Robotime products, and really enjoy those, but I also like getting to know the people here.
YES @Jill_Francisco
This quote from the rules section says a LOT. Give more than you take.
You did an excellent job on your build… I totally agree with your post…
what a nice build! you should be proud that it’s getting easier.
I haven’t been in the community long so I don’t have a huge opinion. I’m not gonna lie, I wouldn’t be here if not for the prizes, but I also get that we want the community to be filled with productive and positive posts. there’s also a fine line between what’s spam and what’s point farming and self-promotion and all that. It seems the community is growing fast and I wonder if another level of moderation is something Robotime needs for this platform. Or maybe a revamp of the point system, but I wouldn’t even know what that would look like. but to me, this seems like a shortage of available moderation, and I wonder if Robotime wouldn’t benefit from hiring a couple more people to manage the community forums specifically. I get the impression they’ve been bogged down after canceling the weekly talks (or whatever one it was).
No worries, dear; that wasn’t my point either. I say what i’m trylly mean. And I felt bad, not to others but to myself, so the decision is made. And I will still be here reading; I just think less commenting ![]()
And I truly adore your collection of plastic models! I read your posts whenever you make it and that got me inspired to buy a butterfly myself its gorgeus. I will hunt the rokr flowers but the beetles still on my black list
i hate bugs
@Sofie_Vanderbeken finishing the working MechMix Beacon Tower in one day shows how comfortable you have become with these builds. We also appreciate your honest reflection: a community feels strongest when creativity, genuine conversation, and respect matter more than points.
@Grey74 this captures the heart of a healthy creative community: genuine curiosity about people’s builds and lives, not simply collecting points. Thoughtful conversations and real encouragement are what make members feel comfortable returning and sharing more.
wzw beautiful work !!
Firstly, you built quite faster this time @Sofie_Vanderbeken ! Great job. I hope that your son will recover soon. I know that being a mom is not an easy task especially when our kids are sick.
Secondly, I appreciate your honesty. We all come from different cultures and backgrounds so there is really so much to work on in terms of understanding one another. Our love for building and craft binds us all in this community and that is what I appreciate the most. Of course, getting some freebies is a plus factor. I feel sad that these things happen in this place that I love and part of me now. Reading your post and other comments shed a light on how toxic some people are in this community.
I am so sorry to hear about this.
Hahaha, you really are getting too good at these!
Finishing it in one day definitely wasn’t part of the plan, but now you have an excuse to start Garden Ramble sooner. It sounds like you’ll have plenty of time to create while still being able to pause whenever you need to. Can’t wait to see what you pick next! ![]()
your build look great @Sofie_Vanderbeken . The flower lady as i always known and you always did a great job with your build. I love it when you share for crafting and other hobbies. It is such a joy to read.
I do felt the same way about the community and I have been less on here because of busy schedule but I still take notice of things happening in the community.
Unneccesary flagging is such a joke. Sorry @Nita_Davis and others that have to go through this. Your post also brings so much joy when you share about crafting. which is rare to see in this community now adays. I am sure @Robotime will take notice of this, and constant flagging unnecessarily will take notice as this will just spread hatred and individual targetting. I am glad that Robotime noticed this and restore your posts @Nita_Davis .
Thank you so much for your kind words @Tricia12
Wow! Such a nice build! I love mechanical kits of ROKR. They are so amazing!
