Despite the ominous weather forecast featuring tornado watches and severe weather alerts on our mobile apps, 17 brave individuals, mostly unfamiliar with one another, assembled at Battlebrush Games in Lakeland, Florida, for a fun-filled afternoon of crafting. Even before the official start the builders were arriving, picking their kits, introducing themselves to each other and eager to start.
In all the early minutes excitement I forgot to get a photo of the event table and remembered after the party was in full swing and the table empty of kits.
Everyone really loved the banner and pointed out the ones they had done and the ones they want to do. Several others utilized the community poster QR code to make an account as they were only aware of the Facebook page group.
Our workspace was compact yet our enthusiasm for crafting remained exceptionally high.
I was concerned that the weather might deter many from attending. Fortunately, we received a few walk-ins to make up for those that could not make it - all eager to participate in the new building activity, despite being unfamiliar with it. A father-son duo passing through posed several questions about the company and their products which I was delighted to address.
We were packing up and saying our goodbyes around 3:30 just as the skies were darkening and becoming more ominous. I hope everyone had a good time and made it home safe and sound.
Wonderful meeting. I know how time-consuming it is to prepare and organize a meeting like this. And I see how happy they are to create and build up together thanks to your efforts! Congratulation!
Wow, you really took a risk! On my trip to Orlando, Florida, there was a tornado, and I saw everyone boarding up their windows, etc. etc. I’m glad you were able to have the reunion!
For a tornado? Bet they were prepping for a hurricane. We do board up for those but generally not tornadoes. Heck even for hurricanes we sit outside and watch till it gets too bad to stay out. We’re a hardy bunch.
