My very first ROKR model was the Tilt a whirl (the tea cup)
I still remember seeing the Theme Park Series on display in a hobby store while I was travelling. I saw three models from the ROKR Magic Amusement Park Series on display: Parachute Tower, Swing Ride, and Tilt-A-Whirl
I was absolutely amazed. Until then, I had mostly built static miniatures like little shops and houses. I had no idea a model could move, light up, and even play music. It completely changed the way I looked at miniature building.
I bought it on the spot. I didn’t care how much space it would take in my luggage, how difficult it would be to bring home, or even whether I’d have enough time to build it—I just knew I had to have it.
When I got home, I spent days deciding which one to build first. I watched countless YouTube videos and tutorials before finally choosing the Tea Cup Ride.
As I built it, I tested every step carefully. Of course, I also wanted to make it a little more personal, so I customized the colours and added translucent photos of Keung Toon both sides. When the lights are on, they create such a beautiful glowing effect.
Your collection is so beautiful! You did such a great job on that tilt a whirl, to think it was your first. I don’t have any of this series yet but I’m afraid if I start one I might want to get them all hahaha
