It was good practice. It was very relaxing too.
I’ve done this through phone apps/games and it was satisfying-ish, although it depends on your patient with your fingers moving and zooming around it. I don’t think I’d enjoy painting as I’ve never have, but hey, never say ever!
I know what apps you are talking about. I’ve done those too. I was bored with them pretty fast. It’s definitely a different experience, trying the real thing.

Never tried it. But do want to in the future when i get to old to build minitures. I remember my grandfather doing a lot of them. He would spend hours a day doing it.

It’s a really great mindless/meditative activity. I find myself having to think harder when I’m building a miniature sets. But PBN is very automatic and relaxing, methodical. And it’s gratifying to see it when it come together. You just trust the process.
I love that you shared the memory of your grandfather with me. It’s beautiful to connect through art and the joy of it.

I did do it on my phone like a game but js not the same haha
It’s definitely not the same. I’ve played the phone game too. Actually having a physical creation is one huge benefit.

I’d never tried go paint by number. The final result looks absolutely stunning

I did the one on my ipad. Did not like it that much. I can see where the real process would be lengthy but more satisfying
