Couple of tips and update:

as I said in another post, I use these metal tweezers to remove pieces. I found a few in this kit that did better with this. There was one piece, a white little frame for a red window, that cracked a little. I did not use this and I should have!
The pics are not completely in order so will address based on shown here. This part was the lantern. I originally put together based on directions but found the “glas/paper” piece was hard to p,ace proerly. If I removed 1 side of the lantern, p,ace the glas, and then replaced the black frame, it lined up better. So I recommend that.

I just wanted to show this piece and how pretty it was! Door was a little stiff to open to begin with but then worked fine to open and close.

I just loved the way they framed out this window. No issues but again wanted to share the details

I ended with making the little boxes and wrapping like presents. That is it for now!

Such a lovely model. I like the fact that you are using tweezers but I will always stress that cutting the tabs that hold the pieces in are the best way to avoid breaking. As for the door not opening and closing as well as it should, sanding ( and sometimes waxing) of any edges is always helpful to make things move easier. This is going to be a very lovely kit when done. Thanks for your tips on the lantern.

Thanks for sharing these tips, they’re really helpful! The lantern advice is great, and that window detail looks so pretty. It’s always nice to see the little touches that make the build special. Looking forward to your next update!

I did try with my X-acto knife and it was almost too big. What are you using and if that - blade size? I prefer to be safe, especially with the guitar one soon!
Thanks Nita!

I just used a regular old razor blade. They come in a black protective case where you can reverse the blade to safely pack it away when you’re not using. That case becomes the handle for me @jeanneL

I may just need a sharper thinner blade. I do agree that this would be a better option than the tweezers!

Yes some blades are to thick and put damage on the part

Such great tips! Thank you much! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

No clue what came in mine, does not say on blade.

Thanks for sharing these tips :hugs: I often use a sharp hobby knife to remove the small pieces so I know for sure that they cannot break
