Again, babysteps! This time I was able to assemble and put together the new home for my chimney. It was an interesting craft to work with those small parts and to be able to open and close those tiny doors! Details definitely matter and it looks BEAUTIFUL. I know I use this word a lot in my posts but what can I do? They are!
While there were not a lot of pieces involved in this, the manufacture of the “chimney home” has to be careful, many little holes for many little part of pieces to make their way through them. But it was fun! And I’m truly, truly loving this detailed part of the build, it’s like “okay, you’re almost done with the insides and the engines, let’s have some fun with decoration, colors and small pieces” and I’m so into it! ![]()
Warning warning! Tips coming for those willing to build it.
So while you’re doing this, when you need to be the most careful imo is here (section 17, first half of page 38):
When putting together E2 with F53, and E24 with F52, take extra care. I’d even recommend you to wax a bit where they come together. The pieces are supposed to fit between their two “teeth” and those “teeth” are pretty thin and delicate, they’re so easily breakable. One of them almost did! But I managed, phew.
The next two steps are also a bit tricky. You want to properly fit them to the structure with the two B16 by making them as well “clip” around the corners, so make sure to hold the pieces properly. Last but not least you’ll need to add the roof, and while it’s not a complicated part, if you haven’t “clipped” the previous pieces properly around the corners, it may be a bit… Yeah, tricky
, to avoid the E33 a E34 parts to get stuck around the sides which would make it a bit difficult for the roof to reach the four “tips” that are supposed to fit in its holes.

Either way, I’m truly loving this detailed part of the build!
