Sometimes you get to do a lot, sometimes you get to do a little. Baby steps, right? As I’ve said a few times I like to take my time, take it slowly. Sometimes I have an hour or two and I do a lot, sometimes I have half an hour or less and I just do what I can. Either way, when I sit to work on my model, I like to do at least one “section” (meaning one numbered part of the manual).
Conveniently enough, today I didn’t have much time and it was time to make “section” 16, which is short and it basically meant to build the side top window (through which you can see the cute elf) and the chimney. It’s also nice to focus on these tiny cute details, right? Like assembling a window and a chimney and adding it to the main structure. Sometimes we focus on the bigger parts or the ones that make it all work together (like the gears, the big parts, the main body) and we forgot that these and those details are what make this kind of builds unique, so it’s nice from time to time to leave the “put all this together” or “twist the string here and there” or “wax those gears” and just put little and colorful details together.
It’s moments like this you appreciate all the small details in the build like the cute elves working around the factory. These small details usually go unnoticed when people see the completed build.
