👍 [Beginner Tips] Becka's Baking House DIY Miniature House - Update #2 Side Walls

Today, I’ve managed to build the 2 side walls of my Becka’s Baking House. I’ve bought an Elmer’s glue stick yesterday for pasting the wall paper to the wood. Thanks for the suggestion @JDisaduck and @Liset for this glue. I recommend it too for sticking the paper on the wood and it’s neat to use and sticky.

I put the window on the one side of the wall. I put a double sided tape on the top of the window to stick on the wall because it’s easy to fall off even though it’s not on the instruction. You can see my bb Nanci on the other side of the window. So pretty as always.

This is the other side of the wall. I’ve assembled and attached the hooks there.

I’ve encountered a hard time while connecting the main wall, floor and two side walls. They can’t fit on the floor so I need to sand the lower part of connector of the two side walls. I’ve sand the connector many times carefully and there are many trial and errors before they’ve finally fitted to each other. My late realization is that I think it’s better to try the walls and floor first if they fit to each other before pasting the papers on the woods as it may get dirty while sanding the woods.

I’ve also done the door. I’ve noticed that there is a gap between the door and edge of the wall. I don’t know if that is normal even though there is no huge gap between the side wall and the floor. I’ve pushed the wood that locks the door on the edge of the wall but it left a paint stain on the wall paper. What would you recommend to avoid this next time? I’ve also glued the wood as a frame on the walls.

That’s all for now.

Glad you loved the glue stick. :pink_heart: I had the same problem with the walls as well, they were hard to fit in and required a lot of sanding so you’re not alone.

I also had a look at my photos I think the gap between the door and the frame is normal so don’t worry.

Thank you so much for checking it out for me. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: Ohhh so it’s really not fitting mostly of Becka’s kits. I thought I’m the only one who had struggled on that. Thank you for showing me. It’s such a relief that is normal. Your walls are neat. Mine left paint stains when I pushed the wood for the lock of the door.

Thank you. :face_holding_back_tears: Btw do you know what to do if the paper got a paint stain from the wood due to pushing?

Yup, you’re right wahaha.

Do you mean this?

You can touch it up a bit with some paint, or I would cut a small piece off with a knife and then use the cut-out piece as a template, drill a new piece of paper, and glue it back on. I don’t know if @Nita_Davis has a better solution.

Oh okay thank you so much. I’m afraid to paint it since it is a paper and afraid the paint will not blend since it’s not a watercolor paper. :face_holding_back_tears: Thank you so much for the suggestion.

Yeess!! Bibili talaga! But maybe next month pa because very busy talaga ngayon. :face_holding_back_tears: medj malayo kase rolife stores dito.

It looks great. Sorry I don’t have a solution for the stain on the wall.

It looks really great. I wouldn’t fix the paint on the wall. Most people wouldn’t notice it and you can make it worse.
