Last year I was at a model convention with my boyfriend. I saw one of these kits and thought I would give it a go. I’ve been obsessed since!
Very nice job.
That sounds like a lot of fun. Wish I had someone to do builds with.
You caught the bug.

I am curious, is your boyfriend obsessed too? ![]()

That’s amazing!
It’s wonderful how your first kit, Kiki’s Magic Emporium, became the spark for your whole creative journey. The way you personalized every detail, from the brick wall to the new name Miles’ Magic Shoppe, shows so much imagination and heart. It’s inspiring to see how you’ve turned this hobby into a true art form. I can’t wait to see what you create next! ![]()

That sounds so heartwarming.
I can truly feel your excitement and joy as you opened your first Rolife kit and immersed yourself in the creative process. It is amazing how time just slips away when you are building something you love. Thank you for sharing such a peaceful and inspiring moment with us.

What a wonderful story to read! It sounds like such a joyful experience building together with your dad. The Alice’s Cuckoo Clock and Seahorse Galleon are both amazing choices, and you described that feeling of satisfaction so beautifully. It is so special how the cuckoo clock now rings every hour and brings back those happy memories each time. ![]()

That is so lovely to hear.
Finding your first Rolife kits in a local shop feels like such a special discovery. It is amazing how these little projects can bring calm, creativity, and even inspiration for your future home. I am so glad they have become such a happy and relaxing part of your life.

I got my very first kit from a giveaway, and just picking my prize already made me so excited. As I started building, I instantly fell in love with the process, the patience it teaches, the creativity it brings out, and the bond it creates along the way. The colors sparked a sense of nostalgia, while assembling felt soothing. It’s more than just a kit, it’s an experience that fills me with joy, piece by piece. ![]()

It wasn’t so long ago for me, but here is my first kit!
I don’t remember exactly how I ended up browsing the website for it, but I remember seeing all the models, so varied and so cool looking, and wanting to try something easy as a first kit, but still “functional” and fun.
Picked that one, to go with a cosplay in the end, and had so much fun putting it together that I instantly bought the Revolver one, and the telescope right after it.
Then I forced myself to pace down a bit, limiting to one kit a month, overwise I’d ruin myself and run out of room XD
I stuck to Rokr (and Rolife) because of all the brands of such kits I tested (and I did expend to a few brands) they remain the uncontested highest quality and most pleasant to put together. The pieces are cut for perfect fit, with just enough room to be pleasant to snap together without having to hurt your finger pushing hard.
They also got the most diversity of models, and I just wish some of the old ones were still available (the Canon instead of the ballista for exemple, I got the ballista already, I really hope I don’t win this one actually
)
And so many of those models aren’t just decorative but also functional, which is a big love from me. The gramophone is my most prized for that reason ![]()
Anyway, this ended up being a love letter to Rokr, but hey, deserved! ![]()

This classica gramophone was my first rokr kit. I was looking for a personalized gift for my partner and that’s when I found rokr. It was a very difficult but rewarding experience. I loved it so much that I ordered my second kit, the vitascope, before I even finished building this one! What made this more memorable is that as a STEM student, it brings me great joy to see the concepts I learn in classes in action in such creative kits. In fact, I ended up taking my vitascope to an optics class that I teach and showed the working to the students and explained how the image is formed through the lens systems and the trick behind the moving pictures. They loved it so much! I always wanted to add antique pieces to my house and the gramophone fits exactly in (though I still haven’t finished painting the kit :') ) I will always be in awe of the amazing team who design these creative kits!

My very first Rolife kit was the “Carl’s Fruit Shop DG142” I had been admiring it online and then my sister bought it for me as a surprise! I love my sister’s, they fully encourage me in this hobby. Opening that box up and seeing all of the little pieces was really exciting. It felt like I was going on an adventure! I did the build by myself but I did watch some YouTube videos about the kit to help me along. I also changed up the stems for the little fruits. Instead of cutting the paper provided and rolling it up I just used green embroidery floss that I stiffened with glue. I cut those to the right size and glued them to each “fruit”. It was so much easier.

I remember it like it was yesterday — my first Rolife kit was
Sam’s Study. I had so much fun with it… and struggled just as much! Looking back, I was pretty brave to choose this as my very first kit, considering how many books there are to make — it’s definitely not one of the easiest ones for a beginner.
What truly matters is that I enjoyed it so much, and this kit was the one that got me completely hooked on building miniature houses. After that, I started looking for more Rolife kits, because all the little houses I saw displayed in stores around here looked absolutely beautiful!
In 2020, during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, I prepared to travel to Hong Kong to visit my mother for what I knew would be the last time. Before I could see her, I faced a mandatory 21-day quarantine in a hotel room. To cope with the isolation and keep my mind occupied, I wanted something engaging to bring along. As a lover of owls and puzzles, I browsed Amazon and discovered the ROKR Owl Clock. It became my first ROKR project. I had no idea what I was getting into, but during those long, heavy-hearted days in quarantine, assembling the intricate pieces of the owl clock offered a comforting distraction, helping me pass the time with a sense of purpose and calm. I have since built many more ROKRs, but the owl clock will always have a special place in my heart.

Welcome to the community!
Thank you, Camila. The owl clock helped me pass the time during the quarantine/isolation and it will always have a special place in my heart. Little did I know that it would lead to a lifelong addiction.
