Guess what arrived in the mail today? ![]()
My ROKR Classic Printing Press! And yes… I am ridiculously happy about it! ![]()
There’s just something exciting about receiving a new miniature kit every single time!
And because this little beauty arrived here in Hawaii, I thought it would be the perfect to give everyone some info about Hawaii.
Hawaii isn’t just a place—it’s a feeling. ![]()
Known as the Rainbow State, Hawaii seems to put on a rainbow show whenever the sun breaks through a passing rain shower. With its beautiful islands—Oʻahu, Maui, Kauaʻi, Hawaiʻi Island, Molokaʻi, Lānaʻi, and Niʻihau—each one has its own unique charm, from beaches and mountains to waterfalls and volcanoes.
Of course, living in paradise comes with a price… literally!
Everything is expensive in Hawaii, but the beauty, aloha spirit, and island lifestyle somehow make it worth it.
And you can’t talk about Hawaii without talking about lei. Fresh flower leis are traditionally given to welcome or honor someone. For graduations, you’ll often see graduates covered in money leis—because nothing says “Congratulations!” quite like cash wrapped in love. ![]()
And for special occasions, there’s the beautiful haku, a flower lei worn around the head.
Then there’s the food! ![]()
Poke, garlic shrimp, and li hing mui pineapple are some local favorites you have to try. And yes, Hawaii even has that famous McDonald’s breakfast with Spam—something you won’t find on the regular menu everywhere else! ![]()
Nature here is another story. The Koʻolau Mountains can come alive after the rain, with waterfalls cascading down their green cliffs.
Kualoa Ranch is another iconic spot, made famous by movies and shows including Jurassic Park, 50 First Dates. And of course the famous TV series Hawaii Five-0 was filmed here in Hawaii.
And on the Big Island, Kīlauea reminds us that Hawaii is literally still being created, with one of the world’s most active volcanoes.
Hawaii has its expensive moments, its traffic, its humidity, and its quirks—but there’s something magical about waking up surrounded by ocean, mountains, flowers, rainbows, and aloha.
Have you ever been to Hawaii? What comes to mind when you think of the islands? And if you haven’t visited yet, what would you want to see or experience first?
Maybe one day, you’ll come visit—and when you do, I hope Hawaii welcomes you with a rainbow. ![]()
