A-frame update 1

My progress thus far is good. Overall a nice build. My only challenge was on step 1, putting the chairs together.

The wood is very thin and easy to break. They have this piece in here to support the legs that end up covering part of the slots the chair back goes in (circled areas). Then when putting on the backs, there is no where to really hold to push them in and it is easy to crack a leg. In addition the backs do not really fully go in. I ended up gluing which only worked so well since they do not really touch the seat of chair. I am wondering if doing the backs first would help?

I love the little books, cups, guitar and stairs. but my most favorite thus far is this:

We have a wood stove as well and use it to heat much of our house in these winter months! We have a furnace but the wood stove is just so nice!
I am moving along and glanced through some things when I came upon this:

Now I know so e of you love pink, but I dont picture a pink couch in a lodge like home. I am wondering if I could paint it a dark chocolate brown or black?
Side not, as I get this together I am thinking of painting the table and chairs too. They are kind of rusty orange. ( maybe it doesnt help that they are on orange construction paper) and @TheToday you are not alone in lengthy posts! LOL
@Nita_Davis you may have created a painting monster! LOL

This is looking good! Not to sure about the chairs, I’d have to see them in person to figure it out.. why don’t you just sand down the divets on the chair back so they sit more flush with the seat part and then glue?

they are kind of short as is. I am going to see how it goes. I may even paint which can cover upif I add more glue

I agree with you 100%, that a pink couch does not belong in a rustic home. I would definitely have to paint it. You want to be sure to rough it up with sandpaper first in order for your paint to cover easier.

Will do. I am thinking of changing the blue and white striped cushion on bench outside. It feels like an eraser or something.

Your mini pieces are so cute. I love the details. It looks like you got it to come together.

Some parts can break easy. It helps me to hold the piece at the base when pressing it to the slot. That way there is less area that can break.

You may have already been doing that and it still broke on you. That is a pain when it happens.

Ohhh exciting! The chairs look great despite your challenges!

I would honestly probably make a new couch and cover it in fabric and make fabric cushions. I don’t think I would use this couch even painted. I prefer adding more textures if I can and I think this would be a good opportunity to do that!

Can’t wait to see your progress and what you decide to change up! :star_struck:

I really tried to do that but it is pretty small. Worked out in the long run!
thanks @SunnyCee

Love your progress update! Sorry the chairs are being hard to work with. :sob:

I’m not sure I’m a fan of a plastic sofa :face_with_peeking_eye: Like @Nectarines said I will probably use left over fabric and cover it up.

I’m sure you are! Haha but your painted version does look really good too! :ok_hand:

I will be interested to see what you do with yours! This couch will become the custom talking point of this kit I think haha

I hate to go out and buy a piece of leather that small. I will start with the paint and maybe modpodge and see how that holds. I can always move toward fabric if needed. I do have some leather like vinyl I could use if needed.
Thanks for an idea! I know I have that out if needed!

I first need to buy this kit hahahah  I definitely want it tho but my bank account needs to regenerate first. But I don’t think I’ll be able to leave the couch as is.
