This build was incredibly satisfying from start to finish—one of those projects that reminded me why I love doing this in the first place.
Seeing the look on my son’s face, and watching him bring out his phone to take photos, made the moment extra special. I went searching for our set of Thomas the Tank Engine Little Golden Books and The Little Engine That Could, only to realize they must have been packed away in storage a long time ago (or maybe they’re at my in-laws place since he used to spend his weekends there). Still, just seeing the train brought back those storytime memories.
There’s really something timeless about trains—whether they’re wooden puzzles, lego sets, detailed models, or the stories we read to our kids. This build feels like a small bridge between craftsmanship, imagination, and family memories.
I love how it has evoked beautiful memories between you and your son. It’s really stunning with all the books in place. I will be getting this one day.
Congratulations on completing the Century Train with your son
It sounds like such a special moment seeing him enjoy it and reliving those storytime memories~ There is something truly timeless about trains and the joy they bring to both kids and adults
