Hello again! Today I wanted to share one of the kits I had been meaning to post about: the Time Travel Book Nook. A friend gave it to me for my birthday, and it meant so much because people don’t usually gift me book nooks — and she did it with so much excitement and love. It really touched me.
I enjoyed building this one so much, and I was surprised at how challenging some parts were, especially the lighting. The ceiling light was one of the trickiest steps: I had to pass the wire through the top without taking anything apart, and with my “butter fingers,” I was terrified I’d mess it up. But somehow, it worked!
One of my favorite parts was building the train. It’s absolutely adorable, and the best part is that you can take it out of the book nook and admire it from every angle. I love that detail so much.
I also really appreciate the touch switch on the front. I love that I don’t have to open the kit or turn the whole thing around to switch the light on. Just one tap, and the whole scene comes to life. It’s just perfect.
I hope I can share a short video with you all soon!
Here are some photos of the process and the finished build. I’m so happy with how it turned out, and I’m glad I finally got to share it with you all
Thank you so much, @Nita_Davis. My friend really does know me well, and it was such a thoughtful gift. I agree, the touch switch is one of the best details of this kit and every book nook! hehe
Thank you, @Atropex! The train is also one of my favourite parts, it adds so much charm. I’m glad you enjoyed the photos, even I only post a few. It was a really fun build to work on
What an interesting kit. It is really special when someone understands us well enough to give us gift that actually matches our interests. And you got to try one you might not have otherwise.
The first one will be the Shakespeare library though, my brother works as a librarian and he has huuuuge shelves of books, so I thought of it as the perfect Christmas gift for him
