1950s Diner Book Nook (not Rolife)

I have started on the 1950s Diner book nook since many are curious about it.

The boards on this kit are really thick, I think that’s why it had a hammer as a tool because your thumb will really hurt if you try pressing them.

For the first part, I started prepping the counter and added some items from the diner’s menu.

These items are so tiny!

My complaint so far was everything is in 2D, it would have been cuter if they were 3D. Then there’s also the tray that’s made of paper but was not pre-folded, that was also a challenge.

But I think it still looks adorable.

I love every details of it. I also wish that the foods are in 3D. They look so yummy. :sob::pink_heart:

Nice job so far! I agree with you regarding the 2D prints, I had some sort of feeling while building the LOTR Book Nooks. But the kit looks cute though, we’ll have to wait for the full build to judge!

I love the idea of the diner but it’s disappointing that all elements are 2D. It will still look fabulous though.

That is my irritation with most book nooks. All items are 2d and not like most robotime kits with the 3d items

Yes. Book books are not as realistic as the DIY miniatures. That is why I tend to prefer them. I do enjoy how book nooks snap together so satisfyingly.

I agree with the how it looks. 3D looks much better. And that is sooo tiny. How was it so far?

It’s easy assembly so far. I needed to use the hammer to flush some pieces because the wood is quite thick and would definitely hurt my thumb if I try to push it.

Instructions can be better. Placements of every item is not so clearly indicated on the pages but I was able to figure it out

I got it from fifijoy website

Ohhh I love the 1950s vibe already. Those tiny diner details are sooo cute, even if they’re 2D!

I really like the theme, but the details would definitely be better if it were 3D. I’m curious about the result, maybe it would be less annoying that the details aren’t in 3D.
