Long time no see! I’ve been a little quiet lately because some games came out that I wanted to play over my days off! Just beat Resident Evil Requiem in 2 days, and then started playing Pokopia! That being said, I still managed to get a tiny bit of building done, so here I am with a small update!
I started off with these purple flowers! They just wanted you to stuff the flowers and some loose leaves into the little box, so I put some clay in the box to make them stay a little nicer! I also glued little pieces of wire to the leaves so I could fasten them in the clay also!
Cactus-mania was next! I had to make 3 cactuses. The smaller one I actually had to make the pot out of clay and then stick the little cactus arms in it!
Last but not least was a little succulent I had to make out of clay! I was really worried about making little leaves out of clay, but it ended up being easier than I thought it would. I think it turned out pretty cute!
That is all I got for today guys! I’m actually getting pretty close to being done the plants, I think I have one more clay succulent, and then a couple easier plants. After that I have to make a pretty tedious looking tree, and then hand cut out all the leaves and handcraft all the flowers for the infamous stair railing vine thing , lol, so I think those last two steps might take me a bit…. Once I’m out of plant purgatory it’s going to be putting walls up and I’m pretty excited for that!
Hope everyone has been having a good week, and I’ll see ya’ll next time! Thanks for reading as always!
Oh my goodness! These are excellent! Those roses appear to be very hard to do…but you excelled! I am so scared of working with clay on my first project sometime in the future
I was really scared of working with clay too, but I think you’ll find it’s actually not so bad! Some stuff I wait to dry before I finish what I’m building. For example I let all the succulent leaves I made dry before I made the little base out of clay and put them in. I think trying to put the leaves in while they were still squishy would not have been great . As for the roses, this is my second time having to do them, and they actually aren’t too bad either! In the old Emily’s Flower shop, the instructions have a little QR code that you can scan and it takes to you a pretty good video that shows you how to do them, if I didn’t have that I would’ve been lost.. I deff could not tell what I was supposed to do from the instructions alone!
Awe! Thanks @Nita_Davis ! I think once you get in to clay, you’re going to see it’s so much easier just to put clay in a pot and put the plant in that rather then using, like, the little round piece of cardboard or wood with the hole in it!
I won’t be using it for that…I am going to turn my 2nd electric guitar into a PRINCE guitar…so I will be molding something into that wierd shape. Kind of scared of what kind of clay to use. @mchipman showed me the one she used…but do you have recommendations as well? @Atropex
Thank you very much, but I think I will probably just go with something I can paint…in a very small amount. I’m not quite as crafty as you…and don’t plan on making a whole bunch of stuff.
Wow! Your succulent plant and leaves made out of clay never failed to amaze me. It’s brilliant also to use wire for leaves and clay as a soil. I’ll take note of those ideas.
Wow! You are a superstar flower maker. The more I see of what is involved in building Dora’s loft, the more shortcuts I am planning.
Your clay work is amazing.
Haha, it’s just where I’m at in the build! Trust me, I’d rather be putting up the walls, but I just got to follow the instructions in the order given to me, I’m OCD like that!
