One big tip I have before showing you all close ups, is that the kits comes with these little circular cardboard inserts to put in the flowers pots to help center the plants… well they suck lol. I happened to have a bunch of leftover brown air dry clay and have been using that in the pots instead, it is way easier and looks nicer!!
The flower part is supposed to be bigger, I think I cut my paper too small, and it was too small to build volume… on another plant that was similar I used air dry clay to form a body on the wire first and then put the paper cubes on:
Still doesn’t totally look like the picture, but I’m kind of at a loss on how to make it perfect . This second one did turn out better though.. But that’s it for Emily’s flower shop for a bit, since I head back to work tomorrow for 6 days. I’ll be posting some more Christmas builds until then. I hope everyone is having a good evening!
Wow! That’s a lot of plants. I think it’s a great idea to use airdry clay, it would give the base more stability too. You’re doing such a great job. I can’t imagine myself doing all these work, my hands would be trembling every time
I strongly recommend you go through and label them with their new numbers when each is completed. This will really help with placement. Otherwise you have to page back and forth to find which is what. I use little cut up post its
Thank you! It definitely takes a lot of time and patience… that’s why I’ve resorted to only working on this particular kit on my days off, it’s just too much to do after a long day of work lol.
SO MANY FLOWERS they turned out beautifully! Even the ones you’re unsure of!
Air dry clay is such a smart tip I’ll remember it next time I have to tackle a lot of flowers
Yeah, I don’t think I’m ever going to make plants without air dry clay again! I’ve even been putting it in the pots that don’t originally ask for anything! It just makes everything so much easier!
