Update 2: Monocular telescope

After another evening of building, the second tube is finished. All the parts need three coats of paint, so it’s going very slowly. The instructions are very clear, and the construction isn’t difficult.

The rings around the tube are very thin; unfortunately, I’ve already completely broken one ring. Luckily, there was a spare part because I ran out of superglue :grimacing:

If you look through the lens you can see the gaps between the wood, but I don’t care, since I’m going to put it up as decoration.

This is looking even more interesting! Thanks for showing the view through it too. I also like the little designs on the tubes! Nice little details!

These little details are to small to paint  but I think it suits this building to keep them in the same color

It is a nice build to make

it’s really great job and to be honest: I never even think to paint the wooden models (I just keep them plain wood color) but you just open my mind

Thank you @aga2713 it’s a huge compliment when I can inspire people. By painting it, I make it a unique piece. I always try to make the small details stand out. With this piece, the small details are too small, and it won’t look good

This is looking really cool. If I do this one in the future, can those bottom pieces be turned inwards where the numbers don’t show?

It’s looking great so far! Even if the process is slow because of all the coats of paint, the result is really worth it. You’re doing a wonderful job, @Liset :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

You won’t see the numbers anymore when it is done @Nita_Davis. There’s still one tube that needs to be attached, and that will cover the numbers. If you want to turn them over, you won’t see the details anymore

Thanks for sharing @Liset . It’s slowly coming together nicely. It’s lovely.

Thank you @Wenbare :hugs: So far it’s a lot of the same stuff I have to make, but I think the end result will be cool.

Thank you @ThaoNguyen :hugs: I apply the paint thinly so that you see as few streaks as possible in the paint
