Update 3: Monocular telescope

I had some time to build the telescope again. The telescope is finished, now all I need is the tripod. I actually wanted to paint the small details on the front of the lens a different color, but it didn’t turn out well; all the paint ended up outside the detail. I decided to just paint it gold after all. I might try painting it again in the future.

The brackets that hold the rings on the telescope together are difficult to attach and break easily. This might be because I painted them, making the rings a bit thicker. I broke four of the six brackets. Luckily, there were plenty of spare parts available.

Gee the brass and gold is so effective! It’s looking really beautiful! It’s a shame your idea didn’t work out of painting the details but they look lovely and stand out being gold too! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: great work :star_struck:

Despite your difficulties, it is looking really good. I really like rosewood color that you are using on the stem. It is really a stunning model.

Thank you @Nectarines :hugs: i think i had to paint the details first, but because of the black spots i thought it would be better to paint the whole piece first, but now it is difficult to paint neatly within the lines

Yes that would be really tricky and super detailed work. I wonder if you could do something using a tooth pick or a really find paint pen?

I have a very small brush, it is as narrow as a toothpick, only the details are very narrow (although it doesn’t seem that way in the photo) tomorrow when it is light again I will try to paint it again
