Amidst all the hustle and bustle, I managed to find some time to build the beach picnic miniature. I am still busy making all the small details.
The hat was really fun to make, but because it is so small, it is difficult to twist the string together. I managed to twist the string together using tweezers. I had to cut out the small flower on the front, and that was quite precision work.
I didn’t enjoy making the bouquet as much; I had to twist the small roses together. I think they are about 2mm in size. I managed it with pointed tweezers. Even though they aren’t perfect, I am happy with the result.
The ice cream scoop and the drinking cup were more fun to make. The ice cream balls are made from rolled-up twine. The lime and the glass were added ready-made.
The last thing I made is the picnic basket filled with a blanket, bread, and flowers for decoration. I had to make those little roses again; fortunately, I am getting more and more skilled at it, and it goes faster and faster to make them.
Twisting 2mm roses is no joke! Your patience is incredible! Using pointed tweezers was definitely the right move for something that small. Even if they don’t feel perfect to you, they look wonderfully realistic in that picnic basket. It’s great to hear that the more you make, the faster you’re getting. Practice really does make perfect!
You are becoming quite skilled at making tiny things. I think your hat is incredible. I think the picture on the box is quite deceptive and you don’t see how detailed the kit really is.
I’m really looking forward to seeing the finished build.
I was actually supposed to make 10 little roses in a row, but I decided to only make them when I need to stick them onto something. That way I won’t lose them and the work is a bit more varied
Thank you @sue Often, when I see the progress photos, I only then realize how many small details are hidden in miniature houses I don’t know if all the details will be clearly visible at the end.
Thank k you @Kim_Kieffer I hope I will get most of it finished tonight, but I think quite a few details still need to be made. I hope it will all fit inside the bowl.
