The detective agency finally finished

The detective agency i was building for mu colleague is finally finished. It was a very cheap kit with a lot of challenges as you have read before. In the end i ran into a big problem. When i was putting the light switch in place the very thin cables broke off and after several attempts i was ready to just cut the wires but my wife came to the rescue. The had the same switch and a other battery box left from a old kit. We replaced it and it worked. So have that it is done and working

What a challenge for you, but it looks great, truly! We want to all hear what he says when he sees his picture on there!
Thankful that you had another light kit!

Wow! This book nook has a lot of interesting details. It’s more realistic than other book nooks. It looks like it took a lot of work. I see you even made the couch.

It’s lucky that you had replacement lighting. That is one thing that would be difficult to fix especially if it’s partially installed.

Yeah the quality wasn’t very good especially the lights. They where already in the structure so replacing the hole thing wasn’t possible. My wife really saved me with the lights she saved from a old kit. That is why i always keep the leftover parts. I spend about 20 hours on it.

20 hours is an insane amount of time! :open_mouth:I don’t know if I ever spent that long on any build. Only thing that might come close is that paint-by-number I did. It was surprisingly extremely time consuming. I knew it would take time but not THAT much time.

You have a very different looking book nook which is pretty cool at least. It is really interesting to look at.

The detective agency I just did is way easier. After you make the books, the whole thing just snaps together. Probably took 5 or 6 hours. 1.5 was just books. Some of the details are a little boxy. The details on yours are much better.

Congratulations on finishing this! All your hard work and all the tiny little details, there’s surprisingly so many of them! It turned out beautifully and I’m happy to hear your friend shed happy tears. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Also love how your wife came to the rescue! :pink_heart:

It turned out great in the end. Despite all the challenges, you managed to finish it beautifully, and it’s wonderful that the switch could be replaced. Your colleague is going to love this!!!

Yeah in this case i had to cut out all the stuff and glue it and al the little stuff is hand made. So a lot of time is also spend waiting for glue to dry and then that adds time rapidly

Do you know the brand name?

Oh. It is interesting to see original advertised product.

The kit is very inexpensive, like you said previously. I also see the one I built next to it. For some reason it is being listed at almost 3X the price as yours. Not sure why it is so expensive. You should just buy Rolife for that price. But I digress. Hopefully I didn’t put you to sleep.

Wow you did an amazing job :star_struck: It’s really sucks when you’re almost finished and then the last part breaks. Luckily, you were able to fix it. The end result looks fantastic. Your colleague will be thrilled.
