Strolling in the Sunshine 🚎 finished

Hello! :pink_heart:

Today I’m sharing the final post about this Japanese kit that was recently released.

Honestly, it all started—as you know—because I thought it was a Rolife kit, haha! Since it’s a “book nook” style, I just assumed it was, but nope—it’s actually a ROKR kit. Plus, it’s my very first kit from this Robotime product line.

I’ve found many inconsistencies, even though it’s the same brand.

The material requires a lot of sanding and waxing.

The pieces don’t fit together, for the reasons I explained earlier.

The instructions are confusing and contain errors—and they’re already quite complex to begin with.

In short, anyone who buys a ROKR kit should expect more work, a greater need for concentration, and a higher level of difficulty.

On the other hand, it makes me happy to see more Japanese-themed kits being released—that’s always a joy!
However, it’s true that most of them tend to follow the same path; I believe Japan has so much more to offer—they could certainly draw inspiration from other themes.

I love how it opens up, allowing you to see everything up close; the colors are beautiful, and the fact that it features music, sounds, and movement makes for the perfect combination.

Now, what I like most—positive and negative aspects:

Positive:

Attractive design

Features music

Includes sounds

Moves

Eye-catching colors

Inspired by Japan

Side door that opens

Good illumination at the light points

The QR codes work and are very intuitive, helping with difficult assembly tasks.

Negatives:

The pieces don’t fit together properly due to how they are manufactured and the placement of the holes.

The material arrived dirty—specifically the exterior panels.

There is no light in the bottom-right section.

Errors in the assembly manual.

Errors in the instructional videos.

The bag of plastic parts is not mentioned in the instructions

Everything splinters and requires sanding.

The “Japanese train” theme is overused.

The power button’s cable was defective, and I had to fix it myself.

Overall, it’s a nice and pleasant kit, which could be even better with a few improvements.

As always, I’m sharing the video I’ve created, in case you’d like to take a look and support me on Instagram!

It turned out really nice. But I do agree with you. JAPAN has so much to offer than just Sakura and the Tokyo Sakura Tram

Gorgeous ~ :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: though I agree, not having light at the bottom right hides alot of the details below. It would have been nice if everything was illuminated. Apart from that this is one of the prettiest Japan themed kits :pink_heart:

It looks pretty, but I appreciate what you mean after the problems you’ve experienced. And I agree that there should be a light in the bottom right section.

It is a very beautiful kit. ROKR kits have the extra bit of work putting it together but they look amazing. I think there are so many beautiful places in the world that Robo could draw inspiration from.

It’s very nice, sure, but that’s just it—hahaha, I would have liked to see something different, something Japanese.

Hahahaha, I took that for granted!

You gave such an honest and detailed review! I love the Japanese-inspired design and all the interactive features, but it’s a shame that the fitting issues and instruction errors made the build more challenging. Hopefully ROKR can take this feedback into account because the kit has so much potential!

Thank you so much! Yeah, Japan has so many things! Hahaha, I really hope they get inspired and release even more!

Thanks! Yeah, the bottom-right part looks really dark—and it’s a food stall, too! It would have turned out better with a little light.

Thanks! Yeah… for a new release, it has way too many issues; I hope they get them fixed.

Yes, it’s very nice and eye-catching. But I was referring to Japan, since this kit is inspired by that country, and most of their kits feature the same type of train.

Thanks so much, lovely! Hehehe, let’s hope they read this and come out with some other things that the train doesn’t have! Hahaha.

Thank you so much! I always try to be as honest as I can. Hopefully, they’ll take this into account and make improvements, since the kit hasn’t been released for sale yet.

There’s a food stall ? Oh yeah couldn’t make out what it was, definitely needs some light because it’s all hidden in a sense

Hahaha, yes, there’s a food stall with stools! Haha, oh, and then there’s the man at another stall next to the vending machine, but since it’s recessed and there’s no light, you can barely see him.
