Strolling in the Sunshine 🚎 3.0

Hi there! :cherry_blossom:

After days without building, I’m finally building again!

I do think ROKR kits are more difficult and require paying closer attention to the steps—especially since I’m used to Rolife, where I find the guide easier to follow.

All the pieces must be sanded: absolutely all of them.
Many of them splinter, or break into chunks like the one in this photo, and it’s a shame. Mind you, I take them out with the utmost care.

The QR code is great! And this one actually works!

The assembly in the video isn’t quite right; it doesn’t follow the guide and skips to a step that isn’t the next one in the instructions… so it’s a bit confusing…

And here’s today’s progress! Haha, it doesn’t look like much, but believe me, I’ve put two hours into it!

Having to sand everything and apply a lot of wax—plus the fact that the pieces are hard to assemble—makes it difficult.

After three days with a ROKR kit, it’s clear to me that I prefer Rolife, haha—sorry!

I understand that feeling. They are more technical kits that require a different way of thinking I guess.

I understand that feeling. rolife is best

ROKR kits are definitely a bit more challenging in comparison, but both are a lot of fun!

No, it’s not about the technical side—I don’t have trouble following the steps. The problem is the parts themselves: they’re defective—the numbers aren’t visible, the button cable was faulty, the parts were colored incorrectly, and on one of the main side walls, the holes are oval-shaped, so the square pieces don’t fit… and so on.

Yeah, me too, hehehe.

The thing is, the pieces are hard to fit together—you end up hurting your fingers—and if I use a hammer to hit them, they get damaged. The holes don’t line up, so it’s a real struggle to get them to fit, not to mention the issues with the button or trying to see the numbers on the wood, :upside_down_face:

i hope you a good building

Hahah I understand, whenever I come across rokr I always admire the people who build it because for me they are very complicated. I also prefer rolife in comparison

Glad you’re feeling better and finally back to building! If this is one of their newer kits, I’d expect it to be an improvement over the older ROKR kits. I’ve completed two ROKR kits so far, and the materials on both are of good quality and are pretty sturdy. Wishing you all the best on completing this kit :slightly_smiling_face:

Thanks a lot! This kit is proving to be difficult.

Hahaha, you should try one! That way you can see what a challenge it is and whether you can do it or not.

Thanks so much! Yeah, initially it was set for the 10th, then it got pushed to tomorrow, the 15th… let’s wait and see. You got really lucky! Because this one is a nightmare to build.

Welcome back to building!ROKR kits definitely require more patience, especially with all that sanding and waxing! Two hours is still good progress, even if it doesn’t look like much. :joy::heart: Don’t worry, no need to apologize for preferring Rolife! We all have our favorites. Happy building!

Good luck on this kit! Can’t wait for your video!

Haha, yeah, I’ve discovered that with this kit—I’ve been busy sanding and trying to get the parts to fit… my fingers hurt. Thanks a lot.

Thanks a lot! Hahaha, it’ll be on Instagram way before it’s here, hehehe.

If you have never done a ROKR kit before, it’s quite the jump!

Yes, it’s my first time! hahaha When I received it I thought it was Rolife until I realized it wasn’t hahaha

Sounds like it’s been quite a journey! :joy: Fingers crossed everything goes smoothly for you moving forward.
