Street Scene: An Ode to Amelie (2001)

Back in May of this year, there was a Whimsical Thursday prompt to imagine a movie scene in a miniature build - it was a fun exercise and I picked the movie Amelie, which is my favorite of all time: Whimsical Thursday 11 & Global Festival Activity 6 & Giveaway | A Movie Scene Inside Your Mini World 🍿 - #38 by NoodleSalad

Things I modded:

Added a globe street light to the existing street light (an LED embedded in UV resin)

Added a light strip to the underground subway scene

Changed everything into green and tomato-colored movie-inspired scenery.

Added a flickering LED “tv” made out of blister packaging I found in the trash

Added movie-influenced props like cracking creme brûlée, a traveling gnome, an antique “Bergamottes de Nancy Lefevre Georges” candy tin, posters and greenery

Added a wind-up music box in the back that plays “La Valse d’Amélie” by Yann Tiersen

This was a super time-consuming modification but I’m happy with the end result!

Thanks so much! It’s a great kit - I kept thinking I shouldn’t mess with it as it’s such an interesting scene with the dramatic perspective shift. But it’s fun!

It was insanely time consuming and I made so many mistakes, @Jo1 - I think I spent five times the price I paid on lighting and electrical supplies. But it was worth it in the end!
